"So, why didn't you push Sam to let you help cook food?" Rhett asked as soon as we were out of earshot from the kitchen, even though we had some members of her group with us. "I mean, that would have been one of the main things that I thought you would do because you love to cook and want to make sure everything was fine."

"It wasn't worth a fight," I said and shrugged while I grimaced and pressed my lip into a thin line. "And I did need to use the bathroom, so again, it was for the best that she did the cooking while we explored and see if we can't find a bathroom so that I can pee."

"Are you pregnant?" Perry asked randomly, and I gave him a weird look because I had no idea why he would ask such a thing. He slowly blinked and looked at me, unamused.

"What?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question while he studied me.

"Are you pregnant?" he asked. "Why do you need to use the bathroom so suddenly?"

"Uhhhh maybe because I have been busy with two twins that have a birthday today and making sure that everything was situated and whatnot. Let's not forget that I had to yell at people to do stuff and not to do other stuff, Thaddeus." I glanced at him from the corner of my eye, and my best friend grinned and tucked his head closer to his chest.

"Hey, I am not the only one that has been snacking," Thaddeus said while his grin grew wider. "I mean, you have been snacking a lot, which only happens when you are p- Oh. Oh, no."

I gave him a weird look and saw that his face grew pale while his eyes grew wide, and he gave me a glance over with a small frown on his face. "What?" I asked and cocked my head to the side. "What is that look for, Thaddeus?"

"You're pregnant again."

I rolled my eyes and scowled, pressing my lips into a thin line. "I am nor pr-"

"You are," Thaddeus said, interrupting me with a shake of my head. "I mean, come on, Rylan, think about it," he said. "You've been "grazing" like you normally did when you were pregnant with the twins, and I think you are pregnant."

"Well, he isn't the only one that thinks that you are pregnant," Perry said, and Thaddeus nodded in agreement. "I mean, I think you are pregnant, too, and Percy even thinks you are as well."

I raised an eyebrow in question and cocked my head while I studied him before I looked at Vulcan. "Did you taste anything differently?" I asked and raised the eyebrow high in question while I studied him.

Vulcan didn't say a word and slowly blinked while he set his jaw and narrowed his eyes, staring at me.

"Can he tell?" Cel asked and furrowed her brows in confusion while she looked at the Vampire King before she looked at me. "Or does he even know?"

I bit back a tired sigh and moved a hand through my hair and across my face while I shook my head and pursed my lips in annoyance. "He will be able to tell," I said. "If he was tasting the fact that I was pregnant while he set up a new bond between us, then I don't know and do not think so."

"If he wasn't then he wouldn't know?" Cel asked.

I shook my head, no.

"Ooh, Cooper is going to become super protective of you if you are pregnant," Thaddeus said, and I rolled my eyes and scowled, pressing my lips into a thin line. "He is also going to baby you and whatnot, so good luck."

I bit back a tired sigh and shook my head. "It would not be the best time to be pregnant, though," I said and rubbed the bridge of my nose. "I mean, I am not even at our home. I do not want to have the baby here. If I get hurt and the baby ends up dying..." I shrugged and pressed my lips into a thin line while my heart broke.

"Does that mean you are pregnant?" Thaddeus asked and raised an eyebrow in question while he studied me.

"That's the thing, I do not know if I am pregnant or not, Thaddeus," I said and shook my head. I bit back a tired sigh and moved a hand through my hair. "I am hoping that I am not pregnant, but..." I shrugged and grimaced, pressing my lips into a thin line.

"I got an unopened pregnancy test in my pocket," Becca said randomly, and we looked at her. Her cheeks grew red, and she shifted from side to side while we continued to walk toward the bathroom. "I thought I was pregnant, so I bought a few pregnancy sticks to check."

"And?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question, becoming very protective over one of my best friends.

Becca smiled sadly and shook her head, and a look of pain and sadness flashed across her face. "I am not pregnant," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I took a couple of them just to be sure, and they all came back negative."

"But they can also be wrong," Rhett said and gave her a pointed look. "Remember, that is what happened to Gigi after our second child. We thought we were done, but poof, six months later another baby appeared, and she showed no signs or symptoms of being pregnant." He shrugged and grimaced. "Her scent didn't even change, which was the weirdest thing."

"Well, I did warn you all that you might be pregnant with another child," I said and gave him a pointed look, "but you just brushed me off."

"And I think you are brushing this off," Perry said and gave me a pointed look, and I glanced at him from the corner of my eye. "You're pregnant, Ry. There is no way around it."

I bit back a tired groan and rubbed my belly, praying that it wasn't so but knowing that there was a chance.

Maybe that was why Tabitha was so nervous about me doing this, even though she was the one that placed the food on the table and watched me eat it...

I shook my head and pressed my lips into a thin line, silently praying that it wasn't true, for I knew that it would be dangerous if I were, especially if something went wrong and we both ended up dead.

But I had those that would watch my back and make sure that I stayed safe as well as my unborn child...

"If you are pregnant, then you can not go sneaking off, Ry," Rhett said, and I looked at him. He scowled and narrowed his eyes while he stared at me. "I do not care if you think you have to or not. You are not allowed to sneak off. Is that understood?"

I rolled my eyes, amused. "I will if I need to," I said, earning a small warning growl from my brother. "Pregnant or not, we have to get out of here and in a timely fashion unless we want something bad to happen to us back home."

"But that doesn't mean you should do it with a child on board, Rylan," Sam's Cason said, and I looked at him before I looked forward, wondering when this damn long hallway was going to end and hopefully lead to a bathroom. "What if something happens to the child or to you?"

"I am protected," I said and shrugged with a small grimace on my face, "and it will not be the first time that I did something... dangerous with a baby on board." I glanced at Liam when I said that, and my protector shrugged and grimaced but didn't say a word.

"Wait... what happened?" Cel asked and looked between the two of us with a small frown on her face. "Why did you look at him like that?"

"Because we had to do something dangerous when I was pregnant with my first born and his sister," I said and shrugged with a small grimace on my face. "He was tasked with killing me if what he hoped would work didn't work."

"And did it work?" Cel asked while she and their Cason looked at each other with matching frowns on their faces before they looked at me.

I bit back a small laugh and slowly nodded while I gestured to my Cason, who stayed near my side with his hand still in Jonah's hand. "He and I are still alive, so yes, it worked." I cleared my throat and grew serious, pressing my lips into a thin line. "And I am glad that it did, for if it didn't, then three lives would have been lost, mine included, and the world that we had known would have ceased to exist in the worst way possible."
