In the silver arms of the night, Seoul shrouded its secrets and the sky seemed to sing a soft song of stars. The light of the lanterns painted delicate shadows on the pavement of the quiet streets, while the scent of transience and promise floated through the air.

Beomgyu had said goodbye to his friends, watched them leave and then hopped on his humble bicycle, an atypical means of transportation for an actor, but he pedaled hard. The Seoul night completely enveloped him and a cool breeze brushed through his hair as he pedaled through the vibrant city. With every pedal stroke, the bike quietly told stories of nights and memories past. In some places, he could hear Soyeon's laughter. He could see them sitting at the little café outside, both armed with a notepad and dreams in their heads. It was as if a melody was playing inside him that he associated with that time.

A play of sounds that reminded him of the café's wind chimes.

It was still making its soft noises, but Soyeon wasn't there to hear them.

The drive through Seoul at night also took Beomgyu past an old record store, where they spent hours looking for new musical discoveries. Soyeon had exquisite taste in music, which had a lasting effect on Beomgyu. Every time he drove past this store now, he could literally feel the hours they spent together in front of the shelves. He could feel the beat in his heart that Soyeon had played with the guitar. The guitar in the record store that she shouldn't even have touched.

But Soyeon had always been rebellious.

Unconstrained.

Free.

Until someone took that freedom away from her.

A lump grew in Beomgyu's throat, making it difficult for him to breathe. At every corner of this long street, he felt some connection to Soyeon and he hoped fervently that these thoughts did not influence him too much. His nightly odyssey finally led him to the address he had studied thoroughly beforehand.

Yeonjun's apartment was perched high up in one of those lookout houses that watched over the city. The building seemed to compete with the stars as it towered majestically into the sky. The façade stood out with its sleek, modern design, crisp lines and stylish glass. The windows, framed by the darkness, reflected the lights of the city and hinted that behind the walls were a variety of people with a variety of lives.

With a deep breath, Beomgyu got off his bike.

He trudged towards the entrance, where he could see dozens of door signs on the wall, and it took him a while to find the name 'Choi Yeonjun'.

Now he was here, ready to talk and clear up anything that might be between them. He thought long and hard about whether he should really ring the bell. Until a black-haired young man with a hood that covered half his face pulled open the heavy door. "Good morning," the voice grumbled and pushed past Beomgyu.

Before the door could slowly fall into the lock, the actor stuck his foot between them.

That had probably been a sign to show him that he should have more courage. Finally, Beomgyu entered the building, dragged himself up all the floors until he arrived at the right door.
