He should have told Beomgyu about it, Yeonjun thought.

And he also knew that it might even have been better if they had talked about it. But after seeing the kiss between Soyeon and Beomgyu, the intensity of it, the soloist was left with nothing but doubt. Yeonjun sighed as he opened the door to his hotel room and entered. His thoughts revolved around the kiss he had witnessed and the uncertain future that awaited him. He wondered if there was more going on between Soyeon and Beomgyu than they wanted to admit. After all, the actor had just turned up at Joonwoo's house, even though Yeonjun had asked him not to.

As he slumped down on the bed, tiredness and restlessness spread through him. He had worked hard all day to prepare and master his performance, but now he was overwhelmed by the emotions brought on by the events of that cursed evening.

Yeonjun reached for his smartphone and wondered whether he should call Beomgyu. Perhaps a frank conversation would help them both to clarify the situation and sort out their thoughts.

But part of him hesitated, unsure whether he wanted to hear the truth.

What's more, Beomgyu couldn't reach him because he had blocked his number to avoid such a conversation. So he decided to call Jeongguk. With a tired, even sleepy: "Hello?", he answered the call. Yeonjun could imagine that his buddy was in the middle of planning his new album.

Yeonjun sighed before starting the conversation. "Hey, Jeongguk. Sorry to call you at this late hour. I hope I'm not disturbing you."

A yawn came through the speaker and then Jeongguk sighed heavily. "Nonsense, you're not interrupting. What's going on? Have you arrived yet?"

A smirk formed on Yeonjun's lips, because you could hear how tired and exhausted the rapper was. Nevertheless, he would never admit it and was simply willing to listen to his whining. However, Yeonjun didn't know how to broach the subject, so he simply said, "You have a really cool club."

"Thanks, man," he said, a smile accompanying his voice. "I didn't find you after that. Did you take off?"

This question alone made Yeonjun's stomach ache.

Although his departure was easier to dodge, as he was lying on a wide, comfortable bed in one of the fanciest hotels in Manhattan. "Yes, sorry I didn't say goodbye, but my flight left quite early and I didn't want to stay that long. I've just finished my concert and was really surprised at how many people came for this short planning period," Yeonjun said with such a lightness in his voice, because it wasn't a lie. And he was also happy to finally be back on stage. "How are things going in the company?"

"Up and down, Yeonjun," said Jeongguk. "Some people are still upset about Joonwoo, others are questioning Minjoon. It's chaos, but we'll make sure that things calm down soon. It's important that you get your tour over with first, it's good for your career."

Yeonjun nodded, although Jeongguk couldn't see his agreement. "Yes, you're right. I hope things will calm down soon. I'll do my best to complete my tour successfully." He slowly got up from the bed. A glance out of the window promised a quiet night in Manhattan. The lights of the city shone like twinkling stars on the horizon, while the streets below slowly emptied. "How are things going for you personally? Are you working on anything at the moment? Have you had a chat with our new boss yet?"
