Beomgyu stood in front of the wall in the bedroom, a paintbrush in his hand and a pot of fresh paint next to him. In front of him were the cries for help that Soyeon had scrawled on the wall years ago when she was trapped in her darkest time. The words seemed blurry and distorted, but they still forced themselves into Beomgyu's consciousness as he began to paint over them with white paint.

Each brushstroke felt heavy, as if he was not only applying the paint to the wall, but also the memories and the past itself. Beomgyu's mind wandered back to the time when Soyeon had been imprisoned. He didn't know when she had written those words on the wall and he could only begin to imagine what she had been through. Still, he could feel the pain and despair in the words that were now buried under a layer of fresh paint.

"Was that Yeonjun's voice earlier?" Soyeon asked quietly, without looking up from what she was doing.

Surprised to hear his name coming out of her mouth, Beomgyu turned to her. "Yes, a livestream from him." His languid eyes wandered back to the devastated wall. He didn't know if he wanted to talk to her about it.

Soyeon's heart tightened as she thought of Yeonjun. The memory of the kiss on the dance floor and the complicated feelings that came with it rushed to the forefront of her mind. She felt torn and a soft sigh escaped her throat as she watched Beomgyu's brushstrokes slowly erase the cries for help on the wall. Without saying a word, Soyeon stepped closer and gently put an arm around Beomgyu as he continued to work. His back tensed under her touch, but she didn't let go, gently squeezing him to comfort him.

"I'm really sorry, Beomie."

"Sorry for what?" suddenly escaped him, but his tone was a little too harsh.

Different than usual.

Soyeon flinched slightly, but that only made her put both arms around him. "Okay, I deserved that. It's my fault that it's like this between Yeonjun and you. I'll explain it to him, I promise..."

But Beomgyu shook his head in response. He paused in her embrace for a moment before lowering the brush and turning to her. "It's my fault. I kissed you even though there was a risk of Yeonjun seeing us. It was just stupid of me," he grumbled, feeling the anger rising inside him. The thought of how he had seen no other way out than that kiss was driving him crazy.

Soyeon felt the lump in her throat when she heard the words. The burden of guilt weighed heavily on her and she felt lost in a sea of regret and remorse. But she couldn't let Beomgyu alone bear the responsibility for her actions. "I shouldn't have put you in this position. It was so stupid of me," she whispered, her voice barely more than a breath in the silence of the room. "I'm so sorry, Beomie. I didn't mean to make you feel bad about me. I really thought it would help at that moment."

"I don't understand..." Beomgyu began. He would have liked to scream, but he swallowed his rising voice. His hair hung in his face and he stared down at his hand. "We just shouldn't have done this. I like Yeonjun and seeing me kiss someone else probably destroyed him."
