"Mmm, tasty~" she mumbled.

He touched his bitten lip and chuckled softly. "Dreaming of food again? You bit your husband's lip."

In her dream, she called out, "Hubby, mmm, hubby."

Jiang Chenye laughed again and murmured to himself, "So, you were dreaming of eating your husband."

He turned off the bedroom light, tucked the blanket in, and held his little softie close, drifting to sleep.

Mayor Jiang didn't leave right away. Instead, he went to his father's bedroom. "Dad, if there's something you don't want to tell Chenye, tell me. Do you know where Momo is?"

Old Jiang's face was wet with tears, too many to wipe away. Mayor Jiang understood his family's character; they would never give up until the end. Why had his father given up?

"Where exactly is Momo?" he pressed.

Old Jiang couldn't speak through his tears. After a long while, he said, "She's with your mother."

Mayor Jiang's eyes turned red instantly, tears filling them.

"Dad! Don't joke about Momo," Mayor Jiang couldn't accept it.
