Chapter 94: Jiangsu, the Pig

In the living room, she tried to wriggle out of his grip, but he kept holding on. She hurriedly left for the yard, seeking some peace and quiet, but within a minute, Jiang Chenyu followed. "Xiao Nuan."

She quickened her pace, not letting him catch up. Jiang Chenyu laughed and caught up. "Don't follow me!" Her temper was flaring up again.

Jiang Chenyu found her fiery temperament amusing; in his eyes, everything she did was delightful, even when she got angry and cursed. "Xiao Nuan, you're adorable even when you're mad."

This back-and-forth chase continued until evening when she could no longer evade him. After taking a shower, she lay down early and wrapped herself tightly in the covers. Jiang Chenyu finally joined her in bed, bringing along a hearty appetite.

Seeing the small lump on the bed, he walked over with a smile. "Xiao Nuan, asleep yet?"

She closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep.

Jiang Chenyu went over to fiddle with her clothes. Last night's nightgown had become a piece of cloth, so tonight she wore pajamas and pants.

He unbuttoned her clothes slowly. She immediately covered his hand with hers and opened her eyes. "You came last night, don't come tonight."

"Husband and wife can't skip intimacy."

"Don't lie to me."

"I'm not lying, I just love you too much."

"Stop using cheesy lines to act like a pervert, Jiang Chenyu. Men like you are the worst."

Jiang Chenyu, speaking on behalf of all men, admitted, "Yeah, we men are the worst."

Unable to fake sleep, she thought of Jiang Xiaosu's words when they first met. "Xiao Su said something about you having kidney problems, is that true?"

"Who told you that?" Jiang Chenyu asked, his face darkening.

She confessed that it was Jiang Xiaosu who told her. "He mentioned it to me when we first met in the backyard. He said you had some issues and that he felt sorry for me because I might become a widow."

But after these past two nights, she realized even without experience that her husband was perfectly fine.

Jiang Chenyu's face turned even darker. "Xiao Nuan, you sleep first. I need to go out for a while."

She sensed that her husband was going to deal with someone.

The next day, she wanted to visit Xiaosu first. "Is he okay?" she asked.

"Yesterday he fell ill, so Chenyu took him to the hospital."

She felt she understood something.

In the morning, Jiang Chenyu offered to drive her, but she said, "I want to go to the hospital first."

"He's not dead," Jiang Chenyu remarked coldly.

"Are you sure you didn't hit him?" she asked, realizing her husband might have a hand in Xiaosu's condition.

"Yeah."

"Is he badly injured?"

"Getting there."

"You're terrifying. All because someone said you had kidney problems? Come on, Jiang Chenyu, you're worse than I thought." She felt sorry for Xiaosu; with old wounds yet to heal, new ones were added.

At the hospital, she saw Xiaosu hobbling along. "What happened to you this time?" she asked, helping him.

"Don't mention it. I sprained my foot the day before yesterday," Xiaosu said, annoyed.
