In the Jiang family living room, they happened to bump into Jiangsu, who was looking for Jiang Momo. Seeing Jiang Momo with Su Linyan behind her, he wisely left.

Jiang Momo held Su Linyan's hand as they entered the house. "Dad, I'm sorry." Gu Nuan saw this and was shocked. Since when did her sister find herself such a strong backer without a word?

After sitting in the living room for five minutes, Jiang Momo explained everything that happened in the afternoon. Gu Nuan also added, "We weren't planning to hide it from Dad, but we thought he might sneak a bite. If my husband caught him tonight, it would be dangerous. Momo, Dad, Jiangsu, and I planned to eat a pack each tomorrow morning when my husband wasn't home. Who knew, before we even smelled it, Dad had eaten it all."

The old man who had sneakily eaten the spicy noodles was now suffering, feeling both pain and guilt. He was busy with ice packs and drinking water to ease the spiciness.

Jiang Lao pushed the blame, "Who told you to hide it in my room and block my light with it? Of course, I found it. If you had told me openly, would I have sneaked a bite?"

Jiangsu chimed in, "Grandpa, you always have an excuse. Last time my aunt told you not to eat ice cream, who snuck in the middle of the night and ended up in the hospital? We were guarding against you this time."

"Shut up! This time it has nothing to do with you, has it? You're getting cocky now?" Jiang Lao retorted at his grandson.

Jiangsu banged the table, "Hey, you can't say that. This time, I really had nothing to do with it. Uncle can vouch for me."

Jiang Lao replied, "Don't push your luck, or I'll whack you with my cane."

Jiangsu pointed at his grandpa and turned to his uncle, "Uncle, Grandpa is speaking clearly without stuttering. He must be fine now. Go ahead and scold him for sneaking the spicy noodles."

Jiang Lao turned and glared at Jiang Chenyu, "If you dare to scold me, your wife and sister-in-law won't escape blame either."

If he's going down, he's taking everyone with him. Gu Xiaonuan looked down at her toes, while Jiang Momo, who had found a backer, shrank into her clothes.

Su Linyan received a phone call and had to leave. However, Jiang Momo, feeling guilty and wanting to avoid facing her father and brothers after her mistake, turned to her brother for help.

"Brother~" Her tone was pleading, and Su Linyan knew immediately what she wanted. He held Jiang Momo's hand and turned to Jiang Lao, "Uncle Jiang, my grandparents at home miss Momo. Can I take her back tonight?"

Jiang Lao glanced at his daughter. He knew very well that it wasn't about family missing her; she just wanted to escape. "Why are you asking me? She's not my daughter. Momo can go wherever she wants."

With that, Jiang Momo felt even more guilty. She went upstairs, changed her clothes, took off Su Linyan's coat, and left with him.

On the way to the police station, Jiang Momo opened the car window, letting the cold wind blow in. Leaning her head on her hand, she asked, "Brother, do you think Dad thinks he has an ungrateful daughter?"

"Yep."

Jiang Momo was speechless, hoping for some comforting words, but realizing she had to console herself.

At the police station, Jiang Momo realized the excuse about her grandparents was just that, an excuse. Su Linyan told her to rest in his office, "If you're tired, sleep on the couch. I'll leave my coat here in case you get cold."

Jiang Momo nodded, holding onto her brother's coat. Just as Su Linyan was about to leave, he turned back and said, "By the way, Zhou Zisheng has a girlfriend now. Keep your distance and avoid any misunderstandings."
