Gu Nuannuan looked at the photo album in her hands, feeling a mix of emotions. She didn't expect to feel so guilty for using her best friend to confirm an identity. Even though the result showed that Su Xiaomo wasn't her sister-in-law, she still felt she had gone too far.

"Xiaomo, I'm not staying for dinner. My husband is almost here. I'll wait for him at the door," Gu Nuannuan said as she prepared to leave Su's house.

Su Xiaomo and Su Linyan insisted on walking her to the door. Not long after, Jiang Chenyue's car arrived. He got out and walked toward Gu Nuannuan, noticing Su Xiaomo and Su Linyan. He introduced himself politely, "Hello, I'm Nuannuan's husband, Jiang Chenyue."

"Nice to meet you. As an East Country resident, who wouldn't know Jiang?" Su Linyan replied with a firm handshake.

Gu Nuannuan felt the atmosphere was a bit off, so she quickly shifted the focus. "Hubby, this is our good friend, Su Xiaomo."

Su Xiaomo, feeling awkward, gave a brief nod and moved closer to her brother. Jiang Chenyue looked at her without saying a word.

"Now that I've picked up Nuannuan, we'll be heading out. See you around," Jiang Chenyue said, maintaining a composed demeanor, as if he and Su Xiaomo were meeting for the first time.

Su Linyan nodded, watching them leave with his sister. After they left, his brows furrowed, sensing something wasn't right. He turned to his sister, "Xiaomo, come inside."

"Okay," she replied, following him back into the house.

On the way to her parents' house, Gu Nuannuan asked her husband, "Did you notice anything?"

Jiang Chenyue didn't share his thoughts but gave the answer his wife wanted to hear, "Nope."

Over the next few days, Gu Nuannuan worked hard to clear her friend's name and help her husband see the reality. She frequently visited the Su's house, to the point where even the old man at the Jiang family home got jealous.

"She's running around with her friend all the time and not spending time with her old man," he grumbled.

This time, Gu Nuannuan was at the Su's house without Su Linyan around to interrupt. She opened the photo album they hadn't finished looking at.

Su Xiaomo pointed to a photo, "This is me at five."

There was a studio photo next to it, labeled "Su Xiaomo, Age 5." She didn't have bangs in the photo, unlike Jiang Momo at five, who had bangs. The two children looked completely different. Gu Nuannuan didn't need any further proof to confirm Su Xiaomo wasn't her sister-in-law. After all, even if someone wanted to fake it, they wouldn't have started fifteen years ago. Plus, there were photos from ages one to five.

"What about your six-year-old photo?" Gu Nuannuan asked.

"Don't you remember? I had chickenpox when I was six. My whole body was covered," Su Xiaomo replied.

Gu Nuannuan had heard about it before. Su Xiaomo didn't take any photos that year because chickenpox is contagious, and no one wanted to get close to her. They didn't even hire a photographer for her birthday.

The next photo was Su Xiaomo at seven. "This white stuff on your face, is that you?" Gu Nuannuan asked.

Su Xiaomo nodded, "Yeah, it was my brother's 12th birthday. I thought it was funny to smear cake on his face, but he didn't hold back and smeared cake all over mine. My parents were laughing so hard, and they took this photo."

As Su Xiaomo grew older, Gu Nuannuan started to remember her looks from middle school.

"Xiaomo, I'm sorry," Gu Nuannuan suddenly apologized.
