After settling Old Jiang, Jiang Chenyu stepped out of the room.

Gu Nuan Nuan was waiting by the door. "Is Dad asleep?" she asked.

Jiang Chenyu nodded and put his arm around her shoulders, leading her back to their bedroom.

Old Jiang had the butler to take care of him, and the mayor had Wei Aihua by his side.

Before heading back, the couple checked on Jiangsu, who was alone.

"Uncle, I'm not drunk. I know my limits," Jiangsu said, responding to his uncle's rare concern.

On the day Jiangsu turned 18, Jiang Chenyu had taken him to a restaurant and placed a bottle of baijiu on the table, making him drink one glass after another. When Jiangsu was nearly drunk, Jiang Chenyu told him to remember this feeling and to never drink past this point in front of others. Jiang Chenyu understood the complexities of social drinking and had always advised his nephew not to get drunk in public.

Jiangsu understood his uncle's advice and had never been drunk in front of others.

Jiang MoMo stayed with the Su family for a day but returned to the Jiang family on the day school started. This time, she was "sent" back by the Su family.

Upon arriving home, Jiang MoMo explained, "Grandpa isn't well and needs surgery. Grandma and Dad are taking turns caring for him. Mom's company is busy with the year-end rush. My brother said that before holidays, there are a lot of criminals at train stations, pickpockets, phone smugglers, and even kidnappers and burglars. He's busy at the police station and can't look after me. They didn't feel safe leaving me alone at home, so they sent me back."

Old Jiang was very pleased with the Su family's thoughtful actions.

"Now that you're back, stay put for a while. Be good and stay at home. When the holidays come, if you want to go back, you can stay with the Su family for a while. When is your grandpa's surgery? When you don't have class, we'll all go to the hospital to visit him," Old Jiang said.

Jiang MoMo nodded.

Gu Nuan Nuan, having returned from school, tossed her books on the coffee table, lay on the sofa, and fell asleep hugging a cushion.

Old Jiang wanted to get back at his daughter-in-law for a past prank and shouted, "Run, there's a fire!" trying to scare her.

But Gu Nuan Nuan continued to sleep.

Jiangsu, feeling his grandfather's attempt was weak, said, "Let me try."

He crouched beside Gu Nuan Nuan and shouted, "Fight! Fight! Someone wants to hit you!"

Gu Nuan Nuan remained unmoved.

Jiang MoMo, observing the futile attempts, decided to use her own method. She bent down and whispered in Gu Nuan Nuan's ear, "Nuan, your husband is back, and he's watching you."

Gu Nuan Nuan's eyes twitched. She frowned, opened her eyes slowly, and blinked to clear her vision. "Where's my husband?" she asked groggily.

The grandfather and grandson were speechless.

Gu Nuan Nuan had been woken up by her husband's name.

Old Jiang wasn't pleased. He'd been having too many comfortable days and wanted to see his daughter-in-law stir things up again.

Wei Aihua advised, "Dad, don't provoke her. Her temper is like a firecracker. If she's in a good mood, she might celebrate with fireworks. If not, she's a landmine, and the Jiang family might get blown up."

Old Jiang thought about it and agreed there was some truth to his daughter-in-law's words.

He decided not to mess with his second daughter-in-law. He wasn't worried about her blowing up the house but about losing his culinary privileges if she got mad.
