Chapter 58: Dating with My Husband

Returning to the bedroom, Jiang Chenyu sees Gu Nuanuan sitting on the sofa with a book upside down. He kindly reminds her, "Sweetheart, your book is upside down."

Gu Nuanuan quickly corrects it upon realizing her mistake.

Although her eyes are on the book, her mind is elsewhere, feeling nervous about the pressure to have a child.

Jiang Chenyu moves around the room, searching for a suitable vase to put the roses in. Gu Nuanuan offers to help, as she's more knowledgeable about aesthetics being a girl.

While Gu Nuanuan is arranging the flowers, Jiang Chenyu asks, "Did you hear what we were talking about in the living room?"

Gu Nuanuan nods, looking a bit sheepish.

"Honey, do you really want to have a baby?" she asks tentatively.

Jiang Chenyu reaches out to rub her head gently, "Whether to have a baby or not is up to you. Little Su was right. Getting married has already put you under scrutiny, and having a baby would only attract more gossip."

Gu Nuanuan finishes arranging the flowers and leans against her husband's side.

In Jiang Chenyu's eyes, she's like a clingy little cat, making him want to hold her, caress her, cup her face, and kiss her.

"I'm not against having a baby," Gu Nuanuan finally says, feeling less pressured.

Her husband's response makes her feel supported, and she continues, "But we need to discuss it further. Marrying you has already put me in the spotlight, and having a baby now would only make things more complicated."

Her statement reveals her willingness to consider having a child in the future, but she wants to make sure their relationship is stable first.

"What are your conditions?" Jiang Chenyu asks.

Gu Nuanuan tugs at her husband's shirt and says playfully, "Let's date, just like other couples."

Jiang Chenyu is taken aback, "Date? We're already married."

Gu Nuanuan explains enthusiastically, "Exactly! It'll be romantic. Most couples date before getting married, but sometimes they don't end up tying the knot. But for us, marriage is like a safety net. No matter the outcome of our dating, we're already locked together. Plus, dating won't disrupt our normal lives; it'll only make our relationship more enjoyable."

Jiang Chenyu can't help but marvel at his wife's unconventional thinking. Gu Nuanuan continues, "Dating will help you understand me better. If you find out I'm not suitable to be your wife, you still have a chance to break up. But if I have a baby for you, even if you leave me, I'll still be the mother of your child."

"Are you trying to assess me to see if I'm a perfect husband before deciding whether to have a baby?" Jiang Chenyu probes, piercing through her facade.

Gu Nuanuan chuckles nervously, "We're assessing each other, aren't we?"

"Honey, is this really necessary?" Jiang Chenyu asks.

Gu Nuanuan nods, "I've never dated anyone before. I want to experience going to the movies, drinking from the same cup of milk tea, going on dates, traveling, and experiencing many fun things with a boyfriend."

Jiang Chenyu ponders for a moment, then looks at his wife's expectant eyes. Unable to refuse her, he agrees to indulge her wish to date within their marriage.

"Starting now?" he asks.

Gu Nuanuan nods eagerly, but before she can say anything, Jiang Chenyu swoops in to claim his reward, pulling her into a passionate kiss against the wall.
