You left Willy a while ago in an attempt to get to know the guests. And by "guests" you meant the customers inhabiting the shop rather than the people you usually referred to. As of the moment, you were showing a group around like a tour guide. Willy did the same with another bunch on the other end of the shop. Having been the ones who made all the candy—and being two very talkative people, at that—you and Willy made for excellent attendants, spluttering out any out-of-the-way fun fact to come to mind. Besides, rather than the usual reaction of bored faces you'd get from the guests, these new people gawked at your creations. You couldn't help but feel your ego tugged on whenever a person asked a question with idolization.
"And this—" you started, plucking a chocolate flower from a display, "—is a blue chamomile-infused chocolate flower," you explained with a smile. 'Just as Willy would' you thought to yourself. You handed the bright blue flower to a bright-eyed little boy. "Try it," you coaxed, and he did just so.
Once he was done with his first bite, he grinned widely at you. "Thank you, Mrs. Wonka," he said, innocent eyes staring admiringly up into yours. He glanced around before handing you a chocolate rose in return. You decided not to correct the cute little boy and just continued.
"Why, thank you," you bowed to the child who just giggled in return. "Well, don't let me ruin your fun. You all can go and enjoy the shop," you announced to the rest of the group. The customers thanked you and dispersed, grinning widely as they returned to the sections that most intrigued them.
Meanwhile, you sauntered up to the register where a line of pleased shoppers stood. Noodle and Abacus seemed to have an awfully good time ringing guests up, squealing and laughing in between customers.
You watched as an aging man left the register with a chocolate basket full to the brim. "That man just gave us a hundred sovereigns, Abacus!"
"I know, Noodle!" Abacus gushed.
Before the beaming customer left, you pointed out, "You might want to try some of those flowers, I didn't notice any in your basket, and I can attest to their exquisite taste," you said.
He smiled at you and turned to the patch of green flowers, "Well, I'll be sure to pick some up, now that you mention."
You turned back to the giddy pair of guests. "Everything alright here?" you asked the two in between customers.
"Oh yeah!" Noodle exclaimed, at a loss for words.
"Willy's chocolates are practically flying off the shelves," Abacus explained Noodle's excitement.
You just rolled your eyes at their antics, lifting the chocolate blossom to your lips. Before you could take a bite though, Noodle interrupted you, "We won't have any chocolate to sell if you eat it all," she chortled. All of a sudden, you felt a bit self-conscious. You knew it wasn't Noodle's intention, but instead of taking a bite, you just twirled the stem between your fingers.
"Yeah... I did make some of them though," you muttered under your breath, wandering away. All of a sudden, the shop looked a bit less magical and a bit more like the embodiment of gluttony.
"Hey, Y/n!" a familiar voice called out to you. Willy briskly maneuvered through the cheerful customers and walked up to you with his usual grin. "I've been looking for you high and low!" His eyes wandered down to the glazed flower in your grasp. "That flower is almost as pretty as you are," he whispered with a smile, probably not realizing you heard him.
"Mm-hmm," you shrugged, putting the flower down on a display. "Um, why were you looking for me?" you asked quickly, eyes darting around nervously.
"Here," he handed you a f/c candy wrapped in neat transparent film. "I thought you might like it, but with all the hiding in sewers you didn't get the chance to try it," he explained, hand outstretched and the other tucked behind him. "Go on," he said quietly when you didn't take it.
