You sighed as the deep humming of the elevator descending overtook your senses. Eventually, it lurched to a stop and you could see again. A sliver of yellow light shone through the grate, uncovering a small hall lined with gold and bathed in red velvet.
A blonde woman dressed in navy blue wandered over to Willy's sole chocolate. "Huh, 'thanks for all your hard work, Father Julius and the Chocolate Cartel,'" she read aloud as she picked up the chocolate. "Oh, that's nice." She bought the lie so quickly; you almost wondered if those greedy businessmen always treated their workers with free chocolate.
It wasn't long before you were watching in horror and second-hand embarrassment as the woman went through each layer of the chocolate. Champagne truffle, white wine— oh, now she's dancing. "Have you got a sweet tooth? Pow, I do," she sang in a drunk daze. She continued humming—as she probably couldn't remember the rest of the lyrics—while doing a wacky dance.
"Wow," Willy breathed, "She can really move." You and Noodle stared at him in disgust. You huffed and Willy chuckled lowly. "Jealous are we?"
"Seriously?" you whispered, propping up your breasts and puffing your cheeks like an angered toddler. Willy's innocent eyes wandered down to your chest and his face turned redder than the velvet beneath you.
"Ha—" he tried, before looking in the other direction in an attempt to get his heart rate down. You just turned back to watch the show before you.
Eventually, the Mistress of Keys' energy dwindled. Being ruinously intoxicated, she leaned against a pillar and mumbled, "I could've been happy, but I threw a pearl away." From what little you could tell, it seemed she was some state of regret. Actually, she was a moment away from bursting into tears. "I'll give him a call," she said to herself. "No, I can't- I will give him a call, actually." She walked to the other end of the room—though it seemed to be a struggle—and dialed a number on the telephone. "Basil? It's Gwennie," she said.
As soon as she said so, Willy and Noodle exchanged a weird look. "What?" you whispered to the two.
"You were right," Gwennie continued.
"What are the chances?" Noodle asked.
Willy shrugged before turning to you and mouthing, 'Later'.
"Those days in chemistry class were the happiest of my life," the woman admitted. Once that was done, the Mistress of Keys collapsed to the ground.
Willy dropped down from the grate and pulled you with him. Noodle followed closely behind the two of you. As you set eyes on the golden vault, a concerned voice buzzed through the phone. "Gwennie? Are you still there?" said Basil. You'd almost forgotten about him.
Noodle looked up at you, "Should we explain?"
Willy bit his lip, and you just pressed a finger to your mouth. You bent down and picked up the phone while they watched with bated breath. "Basil? This is Gwennie's..." you trailed off.
"Sister!" Willy whispered to you.
"...sister. She's just fallen into her evening nap, but she said she'll meet you in an hour at the water fountain. Sound good?" you explained.
"Yes! Excellent," went Basil's voice.
You set the phone back onto the wall before you said, "So, what was that all about?"
"Gasil and Bwennie—" Willy started, before confusing himself.
"Basil and Gwennie were friends in school. Basil was the ticket booth guy, and when we gave him the chocolate, he called a 'Gwennie' and confessed his love too," Noodle explained.
