(A/N: This will be a longer chapter than usual. Hope you enjoy!)
*Judah POV*
As we made our way to find Josiah, I noticed that things seemed more... strange than usual.
I found patches of trees that had their leaves taken away, so it was just the trunk of it. There were always lava pools by them, so I couldn't tell if someone did it to the trees or if it was just them burning. But I was going to keep it in mind for later.
I also kept coming across weird two-by-two tunnels that spanned out for hundreds of blocks in every direction when I was mining for resources. I pointed these things out to my siblings, and they also agreed that something was up.
We decided to keep hunting for Josiah, but also to keep an eye on our surroundings.

Eventually, Elijah's locator map led us to the cave that Josiah was exploring. We all agreed to not go separate ways inside the cave so we wouldn't get lost, even if we found diamonds or something else valuable.
"Okay guys, here's the plan," started Elijah. "We need to get in, find Josiah, and get out. That simple."
Micah raised his hand and asked: "Well what if things don't go that simple?"
"I think —" Elijah began again. However, Shiloh cut him off by answering: "Just improvise."
"Yes! Yeah!" Micah and I high-five'd each other and cheered. "Um, I mean," we cleared our throats. "I hope things don't come to that," Micah corrected himself.
Upon entering the cave, I immediately felt that something was different about this one hole. There were no mob sounds coming from it. Sure, there were torches that (presumably) Josiah placed down, but even in the spots that were pitch black, there was nothing.
"Hey Shiloh, what do you think is up with this cave?" I whispered to her, because I could tell that she could tell that something was different too.
"I don't know..." she responded quietly. "But you're definitely right about something being different here. I can feel it, too."
"Guys! I found something!" Daniel called while we were talking. "Already? We literally just entered," Micah commented. "But hey, at this rate, we'll find Josiah in no time!"
We ran over to where Daniel was. He was standing over a dropped torch and some food. "Uh oh. This can't be good," Elijah worried. "Normally in movies like these, when someone is missing items, it means they've disappeared somewhere..."
"We can't give up this easily, Eli. We gotta help Josiah!" Shiloh exclaimed. "Let's keep going farther into the cave," I suggested. "We do need more materials, after all."
"First, Josiah. Second, ores," Micah corrected me. "How many times do I have to tell you that your life is worth more than a couple of diamonds?"
"Aaaaaahhhh!!!"
We suddenly heard a loud yell and whipped all of our heads towards the general direction of the noise. "Josiah!" we all realized.
"The cave descends deeper down this way! Let's go!" Shiloh ordered.
(A/N: Now play the song "Last Fight for Freedom" by Edgar Hopp.)
We immediately followed the sound, leading to a massive chasm in the ground. We then found Josiah running from a horde of zombies, creepers, and spiders. I could also see some spiders trying to be sneaky by climbing the walls around the cave that expanded into another ravine.
"Why did the cave decide to spawn mobs in now?!" I heard Josiah scream.
Now?! What does he mean? I thought to myself. "Josiah! I'm coming down to help!" I called. "Are you ready guy—," I turned my head to see that my siblings were already a step ahead of me. They had already made their moves of rescuing Josiah while I was still thinking to myself.
"Aw come on! We didn't even have a plan yet!" I shouted to my siblings as I ran down to help them fend off the mobs from Josiah.
"Remember when I told you to improvise?!" Shiloh retorted back, fighting a bunch of monsters that had already surrounded her. "Well, now is that time! Just try to do something helpful for all of us!"
"Oh okay. I can do that!" I ran to Elijah's aid, who seemed to be having trouble with the massive amount of mobs that kept him busy.
"Thanks Judah!" he gasped in between breathes, his ninja-like headband almost whipping me in the face. "Thank me when we get out of here!" I responded. I couldn't lose focus now.
I slashed and hacked at the mobs as hard as I could with my diamond sword, but they just kept coming. I needed a way to take multiple out all at once.
*BOOM!*
"Ow!" I cried out. A Creeper suddenly snuck up on me and blew me up. "Judah! Are you okay?" Elijah called while still fighting the monsters.
"Yeah! I'll be fine!" I answered. "In fact, I just got an idea!"
(A/N: Now play the song "They'll Build a Statue of Us" by Adriel Fair.)
I ran straight into the horde of mobs and stopped right in front of a Creeper.
"Judah! What are you doing?!" someone asked me as if I was crazy. The Creeper started hissing and expanding, flashing white. Three, two, one, NOW! I thought to myself.
I ran way as soon as the Creeper exploded, destroying a bunch of mobs around it while I escaped unharmed.
"Everyone! Use the Creepers to blow up the other mobs! Make sure the timing is perfect!" I screamed as loud as I could to make sure that everyone could hear me.
Everyone started to do as I said. In minutes, every last mob was destroyed, leaving massive craters in the floor of the cave.
(A/N: Okay, you can stop the music now.)
* * *
"Whew! That... was a LOT," Josiah panted after we got out of the cave as fast as we could. He fell face-first on the surface as we reached it.
"Judah. That was brilliant!" Daniel complimented me. "Thanks!" I responded happily.
"Guys! Am I glad to see you!" Josiah recovered. "I HAVE to show you this book I found..."
