Chapter seventy one

Augustus Costello

I park my car in Aurora's school parking lot, I take the transparent candy bowl and looked at her school. The trimmed garden, the flowers, the poultry hen in the other garden filled with chickens, the flowers on the pavement giving the school a princess look.

I walk to the front of school seeing the different teachers with tables and handing button clips, I walk to the one with Aurora's class number on it"Hello, whose parents are you?". She grins, pointing at the button with the kids name on it, my eyes goes to the one with Aurora's name on it, proudly Aurora's parent was written on it.

"I'm Aurora's dad". I grinned, she passes me the clip and I click it on my jersey. I left practice earlier so I showered there and threw on my clean jersey and I hate it because I didn't want them to see me as what my jersey said I'm but I just want to Aurora's daddy.

"Daddy!". Aurora squeals, I look up to see her on the balcony with a couple of other kids, I wave while my eyes search for a certain punk. I see him snuggled close to Aurora who was waving to me and pointing to me to her friends.

Tyson fucking Easton, What's your favorite way to die? I hurry inside and looked through the hallways to find her classroom. I go upstairs since it's not here
Year one  watermelon, each class had a fruit at the end"hello sir, welcome to year one watermelon". The teacher greets pointing for me to sit down. I put the candy salad with the rest of the treats that other parents put on the treat table, none of them are here

"You must be Aurora's dad, now sir before the event starts. This is a one on one session to talk about the performance of your child and concerns". She adds, my hands clench as she brings out Aurora's file.

She opens the file and scans through, I see the little passport of Aurora on the edge of the file with all her records as she passes it down to me. Aurora Costello
They made a mistake? God but why does this please me seeing my daughter bear my last name.

My information was on her parents place along with Star's information and number"Now we are going to talk about her performance in school, we had test week and her results are in, do you want to see it?". I nod as she checks through different files, what was I going to do if she gets a bad grade or how will I do it?

She takes the file and slides the papers to me"She's doing amazing in school, this is her numeracy test". She hands me the paper, it had a twenty mark on it with a small gold sticker and a smiley face.

"This is her literacy test and it's her favorite subject, She loves to read and she's attentive too". She passes me the other papers, I knew my genes had no dumb gene in it. I'm buying her something for this for real

"So my report about your daughter is she's smart, she's helpful and she's attentive. She's a good girl. I have been watching her and the only thing I fear she has is that she likes to do stuff because the other kids are doing that even when she doesn't want to do it".

"Explain?".

"Some of the kids are potty mouthed and they have been warned but Aurora once tried to curse too, even though at first she said her dad said she shouldn't or
the time the class jumped in the pool when it wasn't their turn and she didn't want to jump and the class teased her about it so she jumped even though she's not a great swimmer or the time she roll on the grass cause the others were doing it and got bitten by a fire ant". She add, she could have drowned and fire ant?
