Chapter 21

Darkstorm looked at Chippedclaw in horror as he listened to his words. He looked around and saw Poppywing and Firefoot both looking at his with curiosity.

"I'm not exactly looking for a mate at the moment I'm more focused to become a great warrior." Chippedclaw snorted as he looked at Darkstorm with amusement.

"Darkstorm even the kits can tell your always moony." Darkstorm felt his blood run cold as he though of an excuse. "Well it's probably a mistake I'm not interested in any she-cat."

Poppywing sighed as she looked at Darkstorm with sympathy. "Darkstorm I said the same thing when I met Lionstar but now look I have three strong kits."

Darkstorm listened as he looked away. He and Tigerlilly could have kits but the risk for them is great. "I guess but its best I wait." Poppywing nodded in understanding but Chippedclaw didn't look convinced.

"We'll just wait and see besides kits with your blood could be powerful warriors for ShadowClan." Darkstorm felt pride swell up as he listened to Chippedclaw's comment.

Would kits from him actually be strong? Eventually they made it back to camp and Darkstorm padded towards his littermates. "Oh hi Darkstorm did you hear Hazelflower's kits are going to be apprentices today."

Darkstorm nodded as he sat by Raccoonclaw. "Also there's a rumor about Mousecoal expecting kits. Is it true?" Darkstorm looked at Raccoonclaw. "Yep ShadowClan is going to have new warriors."

Raccoonclaw nodded as he looked away. "She'll make a good mother her kits will make ShadowClan proud." Darkstorm nodded as he watched Mousecoal talking with Darksoul nearby.

"Did she say who the father was?" Darkstorm looked at Beetleleap as she looked at him with surprise. "I thought she told you or maybe Woodheart."

Darkstorm looked back and saw Mousecoal was looking at him. She looked away awkwardly and went back to her conversation with Darksoul.

"No she didn't tell me anything I just learned from Poppywing on patrol." Darkstorm felt suspicion grow as he thought of who Mousecoal was close to.

His thoughts were interrupted when Morningstar let out a yowl. The clan began to gather around the pinebranch as Hazelflower led her kits out the nursery.

Once the clan settled down and all three kits were settled they looked up with excitement. Once Morningstar had every cats attention she began the ceremony.

"Lemurkit, Wolfkit, and Icekit you all have reached the age of six moons, and it's time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on until you receive your warrior names you will be known as Lemurpaw, Wolfpaw, and Icepaw."

Morningstar took a gulp of air and scanned the warrior's. "Firefoot you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have received excellent training from both blackpelt and Hazelflower. And you have shown to be loyal and hardworking."

Firefoot held her head up high as she listened. Once the clan quieted down Morningstar continued. " you will be the mentor of Wolfpaw and I expect you to pass all you know to her."

Firefoot nodded as she walked towards Icepaw to touch noses. Icepaw then ran to Hazelflower pride glowing in her eyes. Morningstar nodded and looked at the two other apprentices.

"Shrewleaf I want you to mentor Icepaw you were Jaggedfang's apprentice I expect you to pass on everything you learned from him." Shrewleaf nodded and touched noses with Wolfpaw."

Morningstar continued with Lemurpaw's ceremony as she sighed. "This warrior is young and some may disagree that he's to immature to mentor this apprentice."

Darkstorm looked at his littermates who looked at him with confusion. "Darkstorm you shall mentor this young apprentice."  The ground slipped underneath his paws as his mind begin to spin.

Morningstar noticed but she only nodded. "He's young but he's proven his loyalty to her clan. Darkstorm felt his pelt go warm knowing he wasn't completely loyal.

Ignoring his thought he began to pad towards Lemurpaw to touch noses with her. Once he finished he went over to sit by the other mentors as the clan cheered for the new apprentices.

Lemurpaw ran towards Darkstorm excitement glowing in her eyes. "What are we gonna do first? Explore the territory, learn how to hunt or learn a new battle move."

Darkstorm felt himself back away overwhelmed by her energy. Immediately Darkstorm raised a paw and she stopped but that didn't stop her from moving.

Darkstorm then spoke once she slowed her pace. "For now let's just see what you know. Follow me" Lemurpaw stood up and followed him.

Once they were out of the camp Lemurpaw ran ahead leaves flying as she sped through. Unprepared for her energy Darkstorm decided to turn this into a lesson.

Running to the right Darkstorm spotted her. Quickly catching up to her Darkstorm ran ahead and sat waiting for her. Suddenly Darkstorm felt all the air leave his body as Lemurpaw Suddenly ran into him."

Falling onto his back he saw Lemurpaw back away in fear. "Darkstorm I'm so sorry I didn't have time to move." Darkstorm Quickly recovered and shook any loose dust from his fur.

"It's ok you didn't hurt me you just knocked me down." But deep down Darkstorm didn't want to admit she did hurt him. "However that was good let's try using that energy during training."

Lemurpaw nodded with understanding happy she wasn't in to much trouble. "Let's try an advanced move first. Let's try the belly rake."

Lemurpaw listened closely ready to learn it. "Alright since your small it might be a struggle at first. First your gonna want to be able to get under your enemy without being crushed by them."

Lemurpaw nodded and sped towards Darkstorm. Noticing she was already starting Darkstorm moved to the other side and watched as she ran straight into the ground.

"No fair you moved to Quickly." Darkstorm rolled his eyes as he listened. "Your enemy won't wait for you or be slow there are cats as fast as a leopard."

Lemurpaw looked at him with surprise. "Well I'm smarter then them I can outsmart them." Darkstorm chuckled as she steadied herself into a crouch.

She ran again but this time she ran to his side. Confused Darkstorm watched as she ran in a circles around him. Curious about what she's doing he followed her.

Watching her made Darkstorm feel lightheaded. Realizing she was distracting him from attacking her. Swiftly gathering himself he prepared himself.

bmmk she was to quick and quickly ran under him while slashing him in the stomach claws sheathed. Once she escaped she looked at him with pride.

"That was amazing Lemurpaw let's try that again." Lemurpaw nodded and prepared for another attack
