Chapter 33

Darkstorm padded from the small hole in the nursery and was careful to remove any left over fur from the brambles. He soon began to run away from the camp ready to meet Tigerlilly.

Darkstorm felt more nervous this time it was just his regular secret meet up with she cat, but yet this time it felt different. It was like his heart was hurt.

Soon he was at the oak that he always visited when he wants to see the she cat. Darkstorm looked around but he didn't spot the thunderclan warrior.

Feeling that aching in his heart again he began to pick flowers for Tigerlilly. He eventually heard the crunchs of the leaves and Tigerlilly's scent flooded his nose.

Darkstorm turned and saw the she cat was more prettier the usual and soon Darkstorm was right in front of her. It was like she was calling him without speaking.

"What is it that you wanted to talk about?" Darkstorm felt his heart stop when he knew the question he was gonna ask could change them both forever.

Darkstorm began to think about Orangekit, Firekit, Ravenkit, and Frogkit all in the nursery. "Have you ever thought about kits?" Darkstorm felt the heavy feeling in his heart leave.

Tigerlilly looked up at Darkstorm in surprised and looked away. "I'll admit I have thought about kits. But if I do have kits I have to lie about the father."

Darkstorm sighed and gave Tigerlilly a comforting lick between her ears. "I'll figure something out. Kits are the only things I want and I'll fight to find out a way to make sure they have a normal life."

Tigerlilly sighed as she nuzzled Darkstorm. "I'll fight along side you." Darkstorm sighed as he sat besides her. "I've thought about it and I can convince my clan that Thornfur is the father."

Darkstorm looked at Tigerlilly with surprise since Thornfur was pretty hostile when he met him. "Isn't he really grumpy?" The gray she cat let out a mew of laughter.

"He's actually really nice. Besides Willowfrost has said he was padding after me for a while." Darkstorm felt a bit uncomfortable knowing Willowfrost was another hostile cat.

Tigerlilly noticed and gave him a lick of comfort. "Don't worry no cat has any idea about us and Thornfur is really kind." Darkstorm felt doubtful that Thornfur was kind.

"Well I guess it could work but what if the clan finds out?" Darkstorm heard stories about what happened to half clan kits during the Firestar generation.

Tigerlilly shrugged. "If the clan finds out I'll apologize to Thornfur and try better out as a rouge." Darkstorm looked at Tigerlilly with sadness as she spoke.

"Or you can join Shadowclan." Tigerlilly's eyes widened as she looked at him in shock. "Woukd they even accept me?" Darkstorm felt determined to get Tigerlilly to join him.

"We can probably have our kits when I'm leader. The clan may feel upset about it after but once the kits and you prove your loyalty the clan won't judge you after."

Tigerlilly sighed as she gave Darkstorm a loving glance. "It's not that easy, I've heard stories and I won't risk these kits." Darkstorm glowed up as he purred.

"Then I'll fight for them till my last breath." The gray she cat let out a purr of laughter and sighed. "Then I'll fight along side you. I'll think about it when I'm expecting kits."

Darkstorm puffed up his chest in pride. Darkstorm nodded and looked at the sky surprised to see the sun peeking past the trees."its about time we leave."

Tigerlilly nodded in agreement and began to get up. "I'll see you during the next gathering." Darkstorm nodded and began to walk away.

"I'll be their and I'll make sure I keep my promise."Tigerlilly flicked her tail in acknowledgment as she disappeared behind the bush.

Darkstorm sighed and made his way back to the camp. Once he got to the camp entrance he froze knowing it would seem suspicious if he just got back to camp without a good reason.

Darkstorm would just say he was on a walk. He quietly entered camp and padded over to the warrior's den, when he got there he navigated his way through the nests and sleeping cats.

When he got to his nest in the back of the warrior's den he sat in his nest and began to fall asleep. Before he even had time to actually sleep Frostfury was shaking him awake.

"Darkstorm that herb you found worked the sick ones are better then they were yesterday." Darkstorm felt exhaustion leave him immediately as he ran out of the den ignoring the cats he accidentally stepped on.

He began to run faster when Raccoonclaw emerged from the den looking well. Darkstorm immediately tackled his littermate and felt joy flood through him.

Darkstorm soon felt Beetleleap join them as she squished them. "Your better!" Darkstorm felt Raccoonclaw try to push them off with his hind legs but he wouldn't get off even when Beetleleap got off him.

"Never do that again I thought you would join Cloudfur in starclan." Raccoonclaw chuckled and managed to get Darkstorm off."Nothing will stop me the day I die is the day the clans fall."

Darkstorm nodded and felt joy once again. Maplenose soon emerged from the medicine den to check out the commotion. "Raccoonclaw I told you that you were ok but your still weak."

The black tom looked at the medicine cat and shrugged. "But I want to hunt and patrol staying in the medicine den is boring." Maplenose shook her head and sighed.

"Well to bad you can do apprentice task. Go look for ticks or get moss." Darkstorm could feel the regret coming from Raccoonclaw and sighed in disbelief.

Maplenose let out a tiny gasped and looked at Darkstorm. "Oh and Morningstar told me to tell you to meet her in her den if I ever saw you."

Darkstorm felt surprised but was curious about what Morningstar was gonna talk to him about. What was she gonna say?
