Four days later
"Dammit!How the fuck could she just push me away like that!"Brooks says.

I tilt my head and watch them closely.You know I love being in peoples business for tea.It was also my favorite thing in the world over than kissing Jade.

"You know maybe Ashely doesn't like guys"I suggest.

"Oh that's bullshit"Will says.

Brooks nods his head and I put my hand on the side of my cheek.I don't know how I got lodged into this self pity party.

Especially on my birthday.That's right I was turning 19 today.And it was 3pm on a Friday.So far?

No birthday wishes.I would think my little sister would be texting me to wish me one .But I'm sure others have her phone.

Shes at least one person who tells me happy birthday.Astrid is always two days later.

My eyes look up as Ashley and another girl walk into the bar.Fuck she was kinda hot.A black with blue eyes.

"This is Jia Hayes.Shes new to Callister".She introduces us and Jia tilts her head to me.

I nod my head before she sides down right beside me."You know you guys she could to the end the party up at Watson Prep.My best friend goes there"she says.

I look up to seee Jade walking into the bar two woman.One of them was Kiera while the other..I knew all too well.

Jia lets me out and I casually walk over.

I frown and look at her seriously."You really don't know?".

She shakes her head and says "Your sister asked me to keep an eye on you while I am down here for a month.I hope you can be on your best behavior,Knox".

Artemis nods and says "He's my bestfriend's younger brother.So in a way he's my younger brotherYou have been keeping out of trouble right Kaiser?".

I tilt my head and say "I'm always angel".

She scuffs and says"Right of course".

I give her another look and she raises her eyebrow."Am I supposed to know something,Kai?".

I clench my teeth and say "No, Artemis".

Her eyes widen at my tone and I walk back over to my friends."You good.We ordered a round of fries".

"I'm going to call it a night"."What but it's only 6"Wll exclaims

"I'm not feeling well.I see you later".He nods his head they all say bye to me.

No one wished me a happy birthday.
Granted I fucking hate my birthday.But the least that they can do is wish me one.

I walk out of the bar and over to my car."Knox!".

I turn around to see Jade walking over to me."Where are you
Going?"."To sleep".

"Sleep?But it's earlier.I may be 24 but I am still a college student".

I narrow my eyes at her before shrugging."Are you okay?"."Why wouldn't I be?".

She looks at me before walking over."Somethings off with you"."I'm fine".

She pulls something out her back pocket and hands it to me."You left you Id on the floor".

I  glance down at my wallet and say "Thanks".

i don't take two steps before she speaks again.

"Happy birthday ,Baby".

I freeze in my spot and I feel my heart race."Do you think I would forget your birthday?I looked it up in the database after we met.I knew you had to a college student but a freshman,I didn't expect".

"Everyone else did..wish me one"."I'm not everyone else am I?".

My eyes soften as I turn around to face her.She smiles and says "How about we celebrate".

"You don't..you don't need to.Im sure you're busy and-"."-I Want to".

I look at her and she softly smiles."I want to celebrate your birthday with you.Will you let me?".

I nod my head and she smiles."I'll see you two hours then,Carrington".

She turns around and I watch go back into the bar.I walk over to my car and get it before smiling softly.

I open the door and my eyes widen slightly.Knox was wearing a white robe that was open.

His defined abs were on full display as his curly brown hair was in his eyes.He must've gotten out the shower.

I tilt my head before walking."What is that in your hand?"."You'll see".

He shakes his head and closes the door after me.I set the box down before looking at him.

"What do you want to do?".

He walks over to the food curb and points to the chocolate covered strawberries."Aren't these your favorite?I got them because they are your favorite"he says

"Yes but today is about your favorites not mine"."I'm content with just watching tv with you"He responds.

"We do that all the time.Don't you want to do something special".

He shrugs and says "As long as I'm here with you I don't care".

My eyes soften and I feel a blush a sport in my face.God there so many ways where despite being 19 now Knox was so much more...mature for his age.

His phone rings and he grabs it.He looks at it sadly before answering it."Yes Mom".
