"Can you believe it?".

I give Brooks a sideways glance and ask "Believe what?".

"That our precious Assistant Professor is leaving in a two days?!?!".

"Apparently the school is hosting a gathering tonight to celebrate her before she goes back to Australia"Ashely says.

"I mean it's only for a year.And then she will be back you know"Will says.

Brooks nods his head and says "I'm sure that everything will be fine.Besides,she's coming back".

She better.

I narrow my eyes as Professor looks up."As you all know Ms.Phillip be leaving us for a year to do a interternship back in Australia.But fear not she will be back in our hands come your sophomore year.As a parting gift.The school is hosting a party in her honor tonight at the Guilford mansion.All of you are welcome to show up but just know the attire is formal".

He pauses and looks at all of us."I better not see you freshman trying to get into the party wearing a shirt and jeans".

The class laughs as I playfully roll my eyes."It starts at 6pm so be sure to attend.Other than that have a great weekend and I will see you all in Monday".

"We are going to to party right?"Brooks asks."Of course"I say.

One last chance to see Jade in a formal dress?Only to whisk her away and fuck her in it?

"How about we go together,it could be fun that way".

I spot Jade narrowing her eyes as I smile as Ashely."Ive been told black tuxedos bring out my blue eyes".

I smirk at her before looking over to Jade.She tilts her head at me before giving me a warning glare.

"Are you ready yet?"Brooks calls out.

I step out of the bathroom and he grunt."Someone's going to be getting all the ladies tonight".

"Of course I am.Have you seen me?"I say.

He shakes his head before following me out the room.My phone buzzes and I look down.Jade had sent me a picture of two dresses.

I smirk to myself before putting my phone in my pocket."Finally god you guys take fucking forever"Will says.

He was wearing a blue tuxedo while Ashely had a blue dress on matching him.

"Was that intentional".

Will gags and says "Of course not.She just wants to be like me all the fucking time"."Fucker"Ashley hisses hitting him.

"Alright people I'm not trying to be late so let's get a move on it"Brooks says.

We file in my car and start driving to the mansion.It was off campus and usually hosted most of the galas and foundation parties of this year.

Why were they doing all of this Jade you ask?Thats because she was not only the top of her class but a legacy.

Her father went here when he was in college too and made some pretty good contributions to the school.

A legacy at Callister gets you far.I mean look how I am,everyone knows my name and everyone will know Nadia's name when she goes here as well.

"god it's a lot of people here"Ashely says getting out.

I turn the car off before walking out and looking around.We walk over to the door and the guard lets us in.

"I didn't know they would have a bunch of security here".

My eyes narrow before I glance at the guards.Why do they look so fucking... Familiar?

My question is quickly answered when I spot Ma and Aunt Layla talking with a student.

On other side I could see people gathered around my mom and Astrid.Great just what I needed.

Astrid quickly spots me and I mentally groan."Great.Run all of you.My sister is coming".

"What?Maybe we-"."-Trust me you.Shes going to grill you for hours about you".

Ive never seen a group of people run away faster as soon as they leave.I love my generations ability to hate small talk.

By the time Astrid had reached me they were out of sight."Where did your friends go?I wanted to meet them?"she says frowning.

"I'm sorry but they were really hungry.Probably headed to the food table".

She nods her head and grabs my arm leading me to mom."No I don't need to-"."-Mom has something to say to you".

"There really no need".

Of course Astrid doesn't listen and leads me right to Mom.I put a fake smile as soon as she seems me.

"Knox.I was wondering when you would show up".

I nod my head and she looks at me.Oh this is where I make small talk.Yay.

"how have you been mother?"."I've been fine.I forgot that your birthday had passed.Is there anything you want?".

"Nope".

She looks at me confused as Astrid turns her head to me.No matter how many times they forget I always tell them something meaningless that I want so they can feel better.

But maybe I didn't feel like making them feel better about themselves.It was too much work as it was.

"I see nothing at all"."Nope"I say with a fake smile.

She looks at me sadly before I smell a soft vanilla fragrance.Ma.

She walks over with Nadia and hugs me softly before kissing my cheek."Knox.Hows my son?".

"Fine ma".

She nods her head and pulls out a box."I got you a gift.I know I am late but I felt bad".

Right of course you did.At least she bought it way before and just forgot to give it to me.

I smile and say "Thank you Ma".

"Put it in.It makes your suit perfectly"."You actually look good for once Knox"Nadia says jokingly.

"Stop that"Mom hisses at her.

She smirks at me and says "Though I think someone else looks way better than you.I saw her around here somewhere".

My eyes widen and I quickly look around for Jade.

Her blonde hair was up in a tight bun.Light makeup on her face that made her gray eyes pop.

Her dress was the same one I picked and she was wearing black heels to match.It was a slit on the side giving me access.

God I wanted to drop down on my knees right now and crawl over to her at this moment.
