Luke

The sun crept over the horizon, casting a warm glow across the bustling metropolis.I laced up my running shoes and headed out for my morning run alongside the Hudson.

The crisp morning air was invigorating, and the rhythmic pounding of my feet against the pavement was a meditative escape from the pressures of my world.

The city was waking up, the streets gradually filling with people rushing to start their day. I preferred this part of the morning when the world felt fresh and full of potential.

During these runs, I often found myself reflecting on my journey. I thought about my high school days, the hunger, the hand-me-down clothes, and the constant fear of not making ends meet.

Back at my penthouse, I showered and dressed in one of my bespoke suits. My wardrobe now was a far cry from the threadbare clothes of my youth.

Each morning, as I straightened my tie, I saw both the successful businessman and the boy who had nothing staring back at me.

Breakfast was a quick protein shake and a handful of vitamins. My life had no room for leisurely meals. By 7:30 AM, I was in my office, a corner suite with a panoramic view of the city.

Carson Enterprises, my brainchild, was now a titan in the financial sector. The days of scraping by were long behind me. My schedule was packed with meetings, calls, and decisions that shaped the future of my company. Julia, my assistant, was a marvel of efficiency, keeping everything on track with military precision.

As I delved into the morning's tasks,Julia's voice crackled through the intercom. "Mr. Sinclair is here for your 11 o'clock meeting,Mr Carson."

I took a deep breath, readying myself for what could be a pivotal moment. Sinclair Industries was a titan in the market, and Adam Sinclair, its CEO, was a man whose approval could change the course of a business. If this deal went through, Carson Enterprises would be propelled to new heights.

"Send him in,Julia," I replied, adjusting my jacket.

With that Adam Sinclair entered the room with the confidence of a man who was used to getting what he wanted.

He was around my age with mousy brown hair,a clean shaven jaw and intense grey eyes, his very presence commanded respect.

There was something about him that ticked me off,I couldn't explain why or what,

Maybe I was just fucking insane.

We exchanged pleasantries, and I motioned for him to take a seat.

"Luke, it's a pleasure," he began, his voice smooth and authoritative. "I've been following Carson Enterprises for a while now, and I must say, I'm impressed with what you've built."

"Thank you,Mr Sinclair. That means a lot coming from you," I replied. "I'm eager to hear what you have in mind."

He leaned forward, his eyes sharp and discerning. "We're looking to expand our financial services division, and Carson Enterprises seems like the perfect partner. We're talking about a collaboration that could redefine both our companies' futures."

It hit me like a punch to the gut. This was the opportunity I'd been waiting for, the chance to solidify my place among the elite.

As he laid out the details, my mind raced with the possibilities.

But I forced myself to focus. "Mr Sinclair,Sir, this sounds like a fantastic opportunity. I believe we can make this work to our mutual benefit."

We spent the next hour hashing out the preliminary details, the synergy between our companies becoming more apparent with each passing minute.

As we shook hands to seal the beginning of our partnership, a surge of triumph washed over me. This was a monumental step for Carson Enterprises.

"Oh and Luke,my fiancee and I are having a dinner tomorrow night. It would be the perfect time to announce our partnership."

I nodded eagerly "That would be perfect Mr Sinclair,I hope this will be a great opportunity for a long lasting partnership." Adam smiled at that.
