Tim's POV
A couple days after my date, I went to work. Lucy was by my side every step of the way. "Why are you so eager to know something?" I asked.
"Come on," Lucy stated. "You went on a date with Iris Cabot."
"I did," I nodded. She looked at me. "But I don't think I'm getting a second date."
"Why not?" Lucy asked. We walked outside. "Come on. What did you do?"
"Nothing," I replied. I saw the car that Iris wanted roll up and she got out of it. "You've got to be kidding me."
"I told you I wanted the R1S Rivian," Iris smiled. "So, what do you think?"
"It's really nice," Lucy smiled.
"I thought so too," Iris replied.
"Why are you here?" I asked. 7 months passed by. Tim and I had stepped off a plane at O'Hare. "Why am I here?"
"Well, for starters, you promised," Iris smiled. "And secondly, you are my boyfriend."
"Okay, well, you brought me to Chicago for Mother's Day and you're not a mom," I stated.
"Not yet anyways," Iris replied. We got our rental car and I was driving. We checked into our hotel and Iris was checking her phone. "So, we have to be at the bar at seven thirty. Karaoke starts at 8."
"Okay, you've been glued on your phone since the plane. What's going on?" I asked.
"Nothing," Iris smiled. "Look, I'm just checking my phone because I don't want to run into my ex-husband here." She got her suitcase opened and looked through her suitcase. "I just don't want to run into him here and if he knows I'm here, he's going to try to find me."
"Is that why everything is booked in my name and you gave me the funds for it?"
"Yes," Iris smiled. "My best friend doesn't even know I'm here."
"Really?" I asked. "So, why are we here?"
"Alex has a gig at Molly's and she wants me to duet with her," Iris stated. "Plus, I get to see the people I left." I looked at her. "The only thing that changed is that I'm 35 and a half weeks pregnant and I have been with my boyfriend for 5 months." That night came and Iris had changed in what she wanted to wear for the night. "How do I look?"
