Sebastian's POV

I walked into the firehouse that Iris was working at. A guy stopped me. "Oh," I stated.

"Hey, Lieutenant Kelly Severide," he held out his hand. I shook it. "What can I do for you?"

"I'm actually looking for Iris," I replied.

"Yeah, I'll grab her for you," a guy stood up. "Who should I tell her in looking for her?"

"Her husband," I stated. Everyone got quiet. The guy went inside to grab Iris. Iris walked out to me. "Hey."

"Sebastian," Iris replied. She pulled me over to the ambulance. "What are you doing here?"

"I was hoping to get your signature on these paperwork to get your name changed," I reply. She looked at me. "You are taking the Cabot name, right?"

"See, my last name is already hyphenated: Newman-Webb," Iris replied. "You're wanting me to add your last name? I can't be Newman-Webb-Cabot." She looked at me. "I don't want to be known as the woman who has three different last names."

"Then we can hyphenate it to Webb-Cabot," I nodded. "Or just take my last name completely."

"Why would I take your last name if we're just planning on getting divorced after this is over? It wouldn't make sense," Iris looked at me. "Look, we can revisit this in a month, okay?" The alarms rang. "Right now, I have a job to do."

"Okay," I sighed. She left in the ambulance. A month had passed and had walked in from her shift at the firehouse. "Hey."

"Here," Iris smiled as she handed me a file. I looked through it and smiled. I looked at her. "I'm taking your last name."

"It's crazy how on the one random day we met was our wedding day and you instantly became everything to me. Now, I couldn't imagine my life without you," I stated. "Overnight, you became my world and my best friend. I just wanted to say that meeting you was one of the best days of my life." I stood up and gave her a kiss. I grabbed her hands. "I want this forever, Iris. I know that's a lot to ask you at once, but you'll probably want that divorce once I get those funds, huh?" Iris sighed, remembering everything I've told her the past month. I was honest with her. "Are you having second thoughts about getting a divorce?"

"Sebastian, I have fallen in love with you," Iris nodded. "It just would it feel right to divorce you after everything we've been through this past month." I smiled. "I want our forever."

"Then we'll do it forever," I stated. "Oh, uhm, a guy was looking for you. He left me his card." I got it from my pocket. "A Detective Halstead from CPD Intelligence. He said you'll know how to get ahold of him."

"I'll call him after my sleep," Iris replied. "He's one of my friends and I also work with him from time to time." She walked into the bedroom. "Probably something about one of the victims I took to Med."

"Оkay," I replied. I left as soon as I got done with breakfast. I went to the office and got through some meetings. Iris showed up around lunch time. "Hey."

"Hey, honey," Iris smiled.

"Did you get in contact with that detective?"

"I'm actually on my way to meet him at the district. Jay is one of my best friends," Iris nodded. "He said he'd rather talk face-to-face."

"Okay," I stated as Iris just stood there. "Babe?"

"Would you like to come with me?" Iris asked.

"Sure," I nodded.

"Let's go," Iris smiled. I drove us to a he 21st District. "Just follow my lead." We walked inside. "Hey, Trudy."

"He's upstairs," Trudy pointed.

"Is Detective Chuckles behaving?" Iris asked. Trudy rolled her eyes as the lock door opened. We walked up the steps. "Hey guys."

"Iris," a man smiled. "Who's the suit?"

"That is Sebastian Cabot," Iris smiled. "My husband. Sebastian, this is Kevin Atwater." She introduced me to almost evenyone in the department. "Where's Jay? He said he'd be here."

"In sarge's office with Hailey," Kevin pointed.

"Thanks," Iris smiled. We walked into the office and I closed the door. "I'm here."

"Who is this?" the older man asked.

"My husband," Iris replied. "Sebastian, Hank Voight."

"Nice to meet you," I stated as we shook hands.

"You got married?" asked, who I assume is Hailey.

"Don't entertain it," Jay nodded.

"We've been happily married for a month," I nodded.

"Newly weds," Hank smiled. "Congratulations."

"Thank you," Iris smiled. "Now, Jay said I could possibly help."

"They've cut off funding for the exam for my two detectives to move up in rank," Hank nodded.

"Move up?" Iris asked. "Jay really never showed interest in moving up."

"Can you help us?" Hank asked.

"What makes you thmk I have the funds?" Iris asked.

"You're a Webb," Hank nodded. "One of the wealthiest families in the city and our biggest sponsor."

"Did Jay happen to tell you I'm cut off?" Iris asked. "I am not an heiress to any of the Webb fortunes."

"But you're his daughter," I replied.

"Of his first marriage. Gretchen made me into a nobody." Iris shrugged. "I'm sorry, Voight, but I can't help you out."

"Thank you," Hailey nodded.

"Again, we're sorry," I stated. I drove us back to the office. "I'll be home for dinner, okay?"

"I'll have something made," Iris smiled.

"Оkay," I nodded. I gave Iris a kiss and went up to my CEO'S office. "Ethan, what did you find out about my wife?"

"Mr. Cabot, Miss Webb is a highly intelligent woman. Top of her class in the paramedic program," Ethan replied. "After her mom passed away, she broke. Her dad remarried and her stepmother wrote her off. Any of her family wealth, she had, went to Veronica." I sighed. "That's why she's working as a paramedic."

"That's her funds," I nodded. "I wonder why her."

Jay's POV

I went to Iris's house and knocked on the door. She opened the door. "Hey," I stated.

"We need to talk," Iris replied. She let me in and closed the door. I looked at their decorations. "He's not here."

"You guys have so many pictures together," I replied.

"Well, yeah. We're married," Iris stated. "What made you think I would ask my dad to fund the police exam? I already asked for enough when he paid for my student loans."

"It was a thought," I stated.

"Didn't you and Veronica hit it off?" Iris asked. "Why didn't you ask her?"

"We went on two dates, but her taste is expensive," I sighed. "And she's not you,"

"Well, I'm married," Iris replied. "And I'm happy."

"You married a total stranger just so you could get your student loans paid. Did you guys even consummate your marriage?" Iris was quiet. "I guess I don't even know my best friend anymore."

"You know me well enough that I'm a woman of my word and I'm loyal."

"Ever since your marriage, I feel like you shut me out. You don't even come to Molly's anymore," I stated. "You do remember the rest of us that are over there right?"

"There's a lot I need to figure out," Iris nodded. "I just think we need to take a small break in our friendship."

"Are you serious?" I asked. Iris sighed. "I'll give you your space, but don't expect me to be waiting around."
