Iris's POV
Three and a half years had passed by fairly quickly. I was setting up the Monkey House for Oakley's 6th birthday party. Jay walked in with the cupcakes. "Oh, just in time," I smiled.
"Well, I couldn't sent my 4 month pregnant girlfriend to the store to pick them up when she already has so much to do here," Jay smiled. "Besides, I am helping you raise the kids. Especially when I have to take Oakley to Sebastian sometimes and then make sure Tim gets Grace when you can't take her." I looked at him and smiled. "Why are you smiling at me like that?"
"Because you do all these things for me when you don't have to," I stated. "I'm a single mother and you've made a lot of things happen for the kids that I never thought possible." Jay gave me a side hug. "Also, Grace is able to have a relationship with Tim because of you."
"What in the world is this?" Sebastian asked, as he walked in with Oakley. "You can't be serious."
"Oakley went to his party here, isn't that right, Oakley?" I asked.
"Yes, mommy asked me where I wanted to go for my birthday," Oakley smiled. "I wanted to be here."
"Okay," Sebastian stated.
"It's his party," I replied. Oakley's friends showed and he ran off to play with them. "As long as he has fun."
"Can you take him for Thanksgiving this year?" Sebastian asked. I looked at him. "I figured it's far enough in advance for you to accommodate things in your schedule."
"Okay, normally I would say yes, as he is my son, but I am due in November," I replied. "That's why I was going to have Oakley be with you for Thanksgiving week and Grace will be with Tim." He gave me a look. "I'll figure it out." Tim walked in with a present. I stood up and gave him a hug. "I didn't think you'd show up."
"I wasn't going to, but I put in some time to come see you and the kids," Tim stated. He looked at me. "Oh, you're expecting. Who's the father?"
"Me," Jay stated. Tim had a look. "What was that?"
"I didn't say anything," Tim nodded.
"No, but you rolled your eyes," Jay stood up. "Am I not good enough for her?"
"Hey," I stated as I got in front of Jay. "Not here and not now." He sat down. "If you're here to start trouble, you can leave." We heard crashing and honking outside on the street. "Tamara, watch the kids." I followed Jay outside and it was a four car pileup. Patrol cars showed up. Jay handed me my badge. "This is great."
"Sergeant Webb, where do we start?" asked one of the officers.
"Secure the scene, block it off at a quarter mile," I stated. The officers nodded and ran off. "Jay, check on the rear driver."
"Yes, ma'am," Jay smirked.
"Go, Detective Halstead," I pointed as I smiled.
"Can I do anything to help?" Tim asked.
"Here, you're a civilian on my scene," I stated. "Stand aside."
"Okay," Tim reluctanty agreed.
"Thank you," I stated. I got out my phone and called 911. "Come on."
"911, what's your emergency?" dispatch picked up.
"This is Sergeant Iris Webb, badge number 5728, CPD Inelligence," I stated. "I am assisting in a 4 car collision on 5th and Main. Send out ambo 61 and truck 81." Jay looked at me and nacided. "Send all of house 51 and notify Sergeant Hank Voight."
"Yes, sergeant," dispatch stated.
"Thank you," I hung up. I ran to the first car. "Sir, are you okay?"
