Tim's POV

I was passing out on the couch when I heard the front door open. I looked and Iris walked into the house. "Hey, that was quite a fast trip," I replied as I got up.

"It was and I don't regret it," Iris nodded.

"Hey," I stated as I walked up to her. I moved her hair to the side. "Who hit you?"

"I got it working the case. I'm fine," Iris looked at me. She gave me a kiss. "I'm going to get some sleep in after my shower. Are you coming to bed?"

"Yeah," I nodded. "I'll be up in a bit." Iris smiled and went upstairs. I couldn't help thinking that he spent a lot of time with her best friend, Jay Halstead, when she went to Chicago. I heard the shower running. I went to bed and woke up the next morning. I made breakfast for both Iris and I, and then made sure the kids were taken care of. Iris walked down the stairs, tying up her robe. "Good morning, beautiful."

"Hey, handsome," Iris smiled as she gave me a kiss. "Did you do all of this?"

"I did," I smiled, as I put away the last of the dishes. "Eat up. You're going to need all the energy today to take care of our children."

"I know," Iris replied. It was quiet. "I wanna be it." I looked at her. "The girl you come home to after a long day. Shower together, eat dinner, cuddle and tell me all about it, even though we work the same job. I wanna me the person who takes care of you when you're not feeling well. Your best friend, your biggest fan, your just because. I am your wife and I wanna be the person you grow with and accomplish your dreams with. The one I build our family with. Your anything and everything."

"Iris, where is all of this coming from?" I asked.

"I just wanna make sure you're aware that I would never put you in a position to question our relationship. I know how you are, Tim. When I walked in this morning, I know something was off with you and I put my finger on it. You were a little put off with me being in Chicago with Jay alone," Iris looked at me. "I would love for you to tell me that I'm wrong and that I'm over reacting but I don't think you can do that, can you?" I sighed. "I knew it. Tim, Jay is my best friend and the only one I was very close to in Chicago. I went there for work and it was professional. That's as far as it went."

"You don't have to explain," I looked at her. "I know Jay was your first love."

"Yeah, but I love you, Tim," Iris replied.

"It's okay. Like I said, I know you and Jay have a past," I stated. "Just know I'm here now." A month passed and I woke up to an empty bed. "Iris?" I didn't hear an answer. The house was quiet. I checked every room and there wasn't a soul in the building. "What the hell?" I got dressed and went Mid-Wilshire. "Harper, have you seen Iris?"

"You lost your wife already?" Nyla asked. "You guys haven't been married for a year yet."

"Yeah, well, I'm sure she just went out and took the kids with her. The house was spotless when I woke up this morning and I'm usually a light sleeper," I stated. I saw Angela walk in. "Hey, Angela. Was Iris in the locker room?"

"No, and she doesn't need to be if she's a detective," Angela raised a brow. "If you've forgotten, she's no longer on patrol unless we need her to be."

"Hey," Lucy walked up to us.

"Do you know where Iris is?" I asked.

"I was going to ask you the same thing," Lucy stated. "She was suppose to meet me for breakfast at the diner and then stood me up the last minute."

"Now that's not like Iris," Angela pointed. She got on the computer and started typing. "Okay, let's see if we can ping her phone." She clicked her tongue. "Nope. It's either run out of juice or it's turned off."

"Iris wouldn't go anywhere without a charged phone so she has to have it turned off," Nyla stated.

"Thank you for that reference for the nanny," Iris walked in with Aaron.

"Thorsen," I stated as I crossed my arms.

"No, he's going to be riding with me today," Iris pointed. "He's my boot today."

"Where's your phone?" I asked.

"Right here," Iris handed me her phone.

"And the kids?" I asked.

"It's the nanny's weekend to have them at her place," Iris stated. "What's going on with you?"

"Your phone isn't pinging," Angela looked at me.

"Because Grey put a block on all of you to trace my number," Iris smiled. "I'm the largest donating sponsor to Mid-Wilshire and that's the only thing I request to keep private was my personal phone number." Iris held up a blue phone. "Now, if you trace this number, you'd be able to find me. This is my department issued personal cell used for my career only. The cell that Tim has in his hands is my personal, meaning friends and family for non-police matters."

"You put a block on us?" I asked.

"Yeah, for that reason," Iris replied. "But you can trace my work related phone."

"Are you always going to have your work phone on you?" Nyla asked.

"I always do, except when I was in a jam in Chicago," Iris smiled. "But other than that, you can always find me."

"You guys get to work," Wade stated.

"Let's go, Chen," I groaned.

"Okay," Lucy nodded.

"Meet me at the shop," I stated. I pulled Iris to the shop with me. "Would you like to explain something to me?"
