Tim's POV
Seven months into Iris's rookie program, she graduated to a P2. It was the end of our shift, and I walked up to Iris and handed her a badge that said officer. "Congratulations, Boot," I smiled. "You passed the program 5 months early."
"Ahh, thank you," Iris squealed. "Alright, so, what do we do now?"
"We can head home to get changed," I replied. We went to her apartment so she could get changed first. Luckily, I had a few nice outfits at her place. I got dressed and sat in the living room. I looked at my watch. "Iris, Tamara will be here in 15."
"Yeah, I'm almost done," Iris called. She walked out of the bedroom as she was putting on her earrings. "How is this?"
"You always ask that whenever you get dressed up and my answer has always been the same," I smiled. "You look great. Are you ready?" There was a knock on the door and I opened it. "It's Tamara."
"You guys look amazing," Tamara walked in and sat her stuff on the couch. "Are you guys going to have a good time tonight?"
"I hope so," I nodded. Iris smiled as she grabbed her purse. "Call or text us if you need anything."
"Yeah, of course," Tamara replied.
"Thank you, again," Iris smiled as she gave Tamara a hug. "We'll be home about midnight?"
"Take as long as you need. Lucy said I can sleep here if anything," Tamara replied.
"We'll eventually make it back," I smiled. "We'll see you later." Iris and I left the apartment. I drove us to STK Steakhouse. "You got us reservations here?"
"Yeah," Iris nodded. "I had to do a little persuading, but it was worth it." I got out and helped Iris out of the car. We walked in and confetti showered all around us. I looked at Tim. "Surprise?"
"Surprise!" everyone jumped out and yelled.
"Is this a surprise party for us?" I asked.
"A surprise party for you, that I get to share with you," Iris smiled. "But I did plan this out for you, so technically this is your night."
"It's your night too," I stated. "You're what? 30?"
"Says the guy who's 46," Iris replied. I looked at her. "Hey, you applied to work for me. You put everything on your application. Even your social, and I didn't even need that."
"Wow, you gave her your social?" Alexandra walked up to us.
"You did too," I stated.
"Actually, I never needed to apply," Alexandra replied. I looked at Iris. "Best friends don't need a reason. I wanted to be there for her."
"Seriously?" I asked.
"I only asked you, Bobby and Lucy to apply. Alexandra gets paid privately through my company anyways, so I didn't need her information," Iris explained. "So, unless you'd want to work for free, I would need your information for that reason."
