Tim's POV
"Alright, kid, I think we got a problem," I stated as Iris left the room. Grace looked at me. "Don't you think?"
"What?" Grace asked. "Why would we have a problem, Dad?"
"I think I need to stop calling you kid," I stated.
"Dad, you don't have to stop calling me kid," Grace nodded. "Uhm, can I talk to you about something?"
"Yeah, you can always talk to me about anything," I replied. We sat down on the couch that was in Iris's office. "I forgot how comfortable this couch was."
"What?"
"Your mom's had this couch for a long time," I smiled.
"Oh," Grace nodded. "I didn't know. I thought you and Mom lived in LA."
"We did," I stated. "Your mom had this office before she met me." Grace nodded. "What was it that you needed to talk about?"
"I'm thinking after this school year I could come live with you in LA," Grace stated. I was shocked that my daughter wanted to come live with me. "I can finish my two years in LA."
"Why do you want to come to LA?"
"Because, I think you're going to have to call me boot in three years," Grace stated. I looked at her. "Dad, I wanna apply for the LAPD as soon as I graduate high school."
"Have you talked to your mom about this?"
"She said she'd get me into CPD, but she doesn't know that I wanna go to LA," Grace nodded. "I wanna be taught by the department that you and Mom were a part of. This is something I want to do. I wanna be in LA with my dad and learn from Mid-Wilshire."
"How do you know about Mid-Shire?"
"Mom told me and how you were the one who trained her."
"Yeah, because she paid them to."
"What?" Grace asked. "Dad, Mom's not made of money."
"Well, technically she is. She the CEO of INS and she's also the CEO of a company in LA," I replied. "Your mom has the finances to take care of you guys without having to work, but she decided to raise you guys off of a CPD sergeant's salary."
"Dad, Mom's captain of the CPD Intelligence Unit," Grace replied. "Mom showed me her memory book of hers. If anything were to happen to her, that would be a way we could remember her by. Uhm, so she was a sergeant by Oakley's sixth birthday. Two years after that she became a lieutenant, and then 4 years later she was the captain. So she's been the captain for about six years." I looked at Grace. "I've missed a lot of time with you when you and Mom split up. I spent a majority of my time with Mom."
"Yeah, your mom had a reason for moving back to Chicago."
"Why did you and Mom break up?"
"I was the one who broke up with your mother. Uhm, your mom tried her best to fix our marriage but I couldn't do it. Not with everything that was happening with me at the time," I stated. "Uhm, moving to LA with me would be something you'd have to talk to your mom about. If we're going to do that, we have to move you in a few months just so you could get settled in and registered for school."
