(Walker in the well)
"Are you praying?" Maggie asks me as she comes out the front door of the house.
"That depends. Is Carl awake?" I answer and she shakes her head.
"No."
"Then no, I'm not praying. Cause it's clearly not working."
"You religious?" She asked me and I nearly rolled my eyes.
"No. My father was quite against the whole idea of it. Just got so much shit going on now, thought I'd try it. It didn't work."
"What's going on now?" She asked obviously getting intrigued by my little pity party.
"What isn't happening now? Car got shot, we lost a little girl on the highway yesterday, and this is the only 'safe' place we've had in months." I paused for a second before continuing to tell her about the past 6 or so months. "Our last camp was a clearing in the woods, not very safe. It lasted 6 months, give or take, before it got 'infiltrated' and we had to move. Lost a lot of people. Then the next place we found was run by some mad scientist who wanted to blow us all up." She looked at me both in shock and confusion, but I was not going through that whole story right now. "We got to the highway, hid under cars when a herd passed by, but Sophia got scared I guess, ran off. Been looking for her and had no luck. And now we're here. The story of my life, you didn't ask for."
"That is a lot. I can tell why you were praying." She responded and I laughed.
"Yeah, for whatever it's worth."
"I think it's worth more than you think."
"We'll see. Just hope Shane gets back with those supplies, then we can save Carl and go back to looking for Sophia." She nodded in understanding. "And Otis."
Shit."Shit, yeah. Sorry. Kinda forgot he went with Shane, didn't he?" Maggie nodded in reply and before I could apologise again, like I had planned. The door opened and I had a feeling who it would be.
"Go away! We're praying." I shouted at the person and not to my surprise it was Glenn. Who might I add looked very confused.
"You're praying?" He asked and I nodded. "Yep."
"But you're not religious." I shrugged. "I could be."
"But your not?"
"But I could be." He made a face at me and I just gave up.
"What do you need, Glenn?"
"Um —yeah, Hershel was looking for you, Maggie."
Maggie then stood up and I looked up at her silently begging her not to leave me. I was beginning to like Maggie if I do say so myself, and Glenn was being weird lately. Very touchy.
She gave me a look back mouthing 'sorry' to me as she walked into the house.
Glenn stood behind me in silence for a minute before he spoke up.
"So... how are you?""Good. Why?" He sat down beside me and I found myself pulling my hands to my lap so he could.
"Just wanting to make sure you're okay. With everything going on. I know you were close with Sophia and Carl so.." I smiled at him. "I'm fine, Glenn." He gave me a suspicious look at I put my hand on his knee. "Really, I'm fine."
Put attention was drawn away from our conversation when a blue pick-up truck parked infront of us. I stood up to get a better look at the person who had just exited the car and immediately noticed the black hair.
