Turtle's POV

She was late.

Kinkajou was Turtle's date to the formal. He was standing there, in his suit and tie, very awkwardly, waiting for her and Moon to arrive. Moon didn't have a date, which meant she would be alone most of the time, but she said it was fine and that she would hang out with Sora and Umber. He didn't know where Winter and Qibli went.

Probably making out in a bathroom stall.

Turtle had been noticing that Moon was looking at a girl an awful lot. Turtle felt like he had seen her before, but he wasn't sure when.

Does she like her? Are they friends? Why is she always-

Turtle thoughts were interrupted by two beautiful girls walking through the entrance doors: Kinkajou and Moon.

Kinkajou was wearing a puffy orange dress and flower earrings, and her hair was put back into two french braids. Moon was wearing a long, silky dark turquoise dress with a moon earring on one ear and a star on the other, and her hair was down.

Kinkajou practically barrelled into Turtle with a hug and kissed him.

"You're late," Turtle laughed.

"Fashionably late," Kinkajou pointed out, "Mainly because this girl can't put makeup on properly."

Moon rolled her eyes, "Where are the other guys?"

"Here they come," Kinkajou said, pointing at Qibli and Winter walking their way, hand in hand.

"Where were you guys? I had to stand here alone in embarrassment," Turtle asked.

"I, umm, lost my... phone! We went back and got it," Winter lied. He was awfully horrible at it.

"We were making out in a bathroom stall," Qibli smiled triumphantly.

"THAT'S NOT A THING TO GO AROUND TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT," Winter turned red and yelled.

Called it. Turtle laughed.

Qibli's POV

"Hey, hey, hey everyone! It's Deathbringer here, your DJ for tonight who is at your service! Let's get this party started!" Deathbringer was on stage, putting on some disco music, almost drowning out everyone's voices cheering.

"Never knew he could DJ," Qibli looked around.

The gym was now full of people in suits and dresses. Qibli grabbed Winter's arm, "Let's go!"

"I-I can't," Winter grumbled.

"Why not?" Qibli asked.

"I can't dance," Winter sighed.

"Sure, you can. Everyone can. There's no right or wrong day to dance, it's something you decide," Qibli stuck a finger in Winter's chest, "Come on!"

"Fiiine," Winter rolled his eyes, trying not to smile. Qibli could tell.

Deathbringer was playing Teenage Dream by Stephen Dawes.

"It's a slow dance song. Here, put your hand on my shoulder and your other one on my waist. And then your feet go like this," Qibli showed Winter the footsteps.

You think I'm pretty, without any makeup on

You think I'm funny when I tell the punchline wrong

I know you get me, so I let my walls come down, yeah come down

And in only a few seconds, Qibli and Winter were dancing perfectly in sync, hand in hand.
