Today was a day that Mia was dreading. So many staff members were out on annual leave that Charlotte would have to work in the preschool room. This would be his first time since her attack taking a step in the room again. Mia's mind was running rampant with worry. Charlotte hadn't voiced much concern, but she could tell that some lingered deep inside of her.

Charlotte had repressed much of the memory of the attack and had done her best to not work in that room for the last 2 years. She was tired of hiding from her pain and honestly was ready to confront it head on. She knew Mia was worried about her but she also knew she was going to be okay. Besides, a very mean redhead would be right down the hall from her if she needed her. Why should she worry?

Walking into the preschool room was almost an unsettling feeling for Charlotte but she shook it off and remembered if it was too much, she just had to say so. This was something she had been preparing for all morning long and she didn't want to back out now. It still hurt under her scars where he had pulled her apart, but she was trying to let it go.

She enjoyed handover with the parents and happily chatted about her baby boy. It brought her such pride to talk about Alex and explain his name. She was nearing her 7th month of pregnancy and was glowing from the inside out. It was getting warmer outside so sundresses are what she lived in. She wasn't sure what made her feel brave enough to wear white, but here she was.

Most of her day was spent out in the garden where she could feel the sun on her face. Mia was making sure to keep close eyes on her. She still had this dread sitting in her stomach and felt something was wrong. But Charlotte did her best to comfort her and let her know she was fine.

She was proud of herself for not letting anything get to her. She was in the middle of cleaning up the classroom. Mia had left to pick up the girls from school so it was only Marjorie in the office and herself in the preschool room. All the children had gone home quite early today and she was so glad because she was sore from standing all day long.

In the midst of vacuuming, Charlotte's foot caught on the edge of the rug and she hit the ground. She sat on the floor for a moment, laughing at herself for taking a tumble. She stood up to finish cleaning the classroom when she began to feel cramping in her stomach. She placed a hand on the bottom side of her bump, stroking it gently.

"It's okay Alex, Mama just took a fall that's all." She smiled, trying to stay calm. She felt a bit lightheaded so she sat right back down to collect herself. She had been a bit more clumsy because this was the biggest she had gotten in her pregnancies. Her point of gravity was majorly thrown off.

She waited for the cramping to ease off before she tried to get up again. But when she saw the blood underneath her, she felt sick to her stomach. She didn't think she had hit the floor that hard but what she saw told her otherwise. Her mind felt a bit fuzzy so she laid her head down for a moment to calm down. Getting upset and stressed out wouldn't change what had already happened.  She held her stomach close and felt Alex moving around which brought her relief but a wave of nausea hit her too.

She never thought she'd be laying on the floor of the preschool room covered in her own blood and throw up again.

The moment Mia laid her eyes on Charlotte and saw her on the floor, her heart dropped to her stomach. She had never ran so fast. She was cleaning her face from getting sick when she noticed the blood on Charlotte's dress.

"Sweetheart, what's wrong?" She asked, picking her up and carrying her to the car as fast she could.

"It's kind of embarrassing." Char admitted sheepishly,"I tripped while using the vacuum. I don't think I hit the floor very hard but it left me dizzy and cramping and I got sick."

"Baby, you're bleeding." Mia's voice shook as she spoke, placing her hand over her sweetheart and her angel boy as she sped off to the hospital.

"I know." Charlotte was trying not to focus on it, thinking it had to do with the fall. "I took a bad fall with Elaina and it ended up being okay."

"Alexander Reece Roberts, you better be okay in there." Mia laughed a bit, trying to stay calm herself. "Baby, are you sure you're alright? The last time you were in the-"

"I- I know." Char cleared throat and cuddled closer to her bump,"I know what it looked like."

"I love you, Sweetheart." She kissed the back of Charlotte's hand and cradled it close.

"I love you too, Mia."

The next few minutes were a blur as they were rushed into an ultrasound to check on Alex. Mia was shaken the whole time and Charlotte was teary. Both were terrified and so worried about their sweet boy.

Dr Steven's was examining the baby on the screen when she caught sight of what was happening. "Charlotte, you said you took a fall right? It looks like you hit it pretty hard to the pike where you're leaking some amniotic fluid and there's a bit of vaginal bleeding."

Mia's eyes widened,"And how can we help that?"

Charlotte was in her own world as she just held her bump closely. She didn't want to think any harm would come to him so she quietly whispered," It's okay baby, don't worry. Mommy and Mama's gotcha."

"It means Charlotte will have to drink a lot more water than what she does now and take it easy when she can. That also means you should take a break from having sex because you don't want to further rupture the sac."

Charlotte seemed so disappointed by the last piece of advice, but was just happy her baby boy was going to be okay.
