As the sun begins to set, it casts a warm, golden glow across the horizon, gradually transitioning into rich shades of orange that illuminate the lower sky. This vibrant orange blends seamlessly with soft pink tones, creating a delicate gradient that stretches upwards. The pink hues are often seen higher in the sky, mingling with hints of lavender and soft purples as they reach the darker blue of the impending night.

In the car, the silence was no longer heavy but filled with a newfound understanding. Bondita looked out the window, a small smile playing on her lips. She knew that tonight was just a beginning, a small step towards healing. And as Anirudh drove, he glanced at her and felt a spark of hope . He had opened the car door for her, a gesture that was more automatic than deliberate, yet it carried a weight of unspoken emotions.

She reached across the gear where his hand rested , her fingers brushing against his. The touch sent a jolt through him, and he looked up, meeting her gaze and it stole his breath away when she shyly looked away from him . A small smile played on his lips which was gone unnoticed by her . He silently took her hand back and tangled his fingers with hers . His smile melting away into a neutral smirk when she looked back at him with shock . He don't want her know how she affected him ...not yet .

Arriving at the restaurant, he felt a mixture of relief and anxiety. He held the door for her, watching as she entered, the saree flowing around her like a dark, shimmering waterfall. He couldn't help but feel a surge of pride and possessiveness. She was his wife, and tonight, in that saree, she looked every bit the part. Anirudh cautiously looked over his old classmates and pulled Bondita by her waist who was still mesmerized by the big chandeliers hanging , the architecture of the hotel which screams every bit of royalty .

Sensing the touch on her waist , her eyes widened and turned to him . He looked back at her with soft eyes but his usual neutral expression . " paas raho , jaise ek biwi rehti hai "

the sparkle in her eyes got lost for a little when she thought he meant it for showing off to his friends . Seeing her eyes lower , he pulled her more closer causing her to gasp and kept a hand on chest to balance .

" dikhaawe ke liye nahi keh raha ...."

Bondita's eyes widened slightly in surprise, a faint blush coloring her cheeks.

Anirudh gulped seeing her blush and the innocence in her brown orbs which captivated him from the beginning . It was really testing his self control .

He was always mesmerized by her simple attire , but today ...she has taken a new avtar and a bold one . Today she did all the make up , and got ready for him ...especially for him . Even the thought of it sent chills to his spine , made his heart jittery . He had to be careful today before he pull her and unleash his beast side . He was a grown adult just a year away from 30 not any hormonal teenager .

He took his arm away from her waist and held her hand instead . The grand hall was filled with laughter, chatter, and the clinking of glasses as former classmates caught up on lost time . Bondita stayed close to Anirudh, feeling a mixture of excitement and apprehension. She wanted to support him and hoped that this evening would bring them closer.

" Anirudh " Someone called and they both turned to the direction of voice . He could see his childhood best friend Aditya happily waving at him with nostalgia in his expression . He made his way to him and meet his best friend's embrace in half way . Bondita smiled at the two friends reuniting again and she backed away for a minute letting them enjoy their moment .

" kaisa hai tu ? abhi bhi nakchada hai ya sudhar gaya ? " Aditya spoke retreating from embrace and patting him in the shoulder .

" meri chod . dikh raha hai tu kitna sudhra hai . " He patted his shoulder back returning to Bondita swinging an arm around her shoulder . She was taken aback initially but smiled .
