"yeh jagah ! Itni khoobsurat jagah maine aaj tak nahi dekhi . " a soft manly voice spoke. It was so deep that the words came out like a poetry.
Her pulse quickening hearing the voice. How can be a male voice sounded soft? It was supposed to be rough and loud right . That's she always heard from men. Their voices rough, hard and so loud that made her shut her ears. She looked down from where she sat but found no one there. She was confused. The voice came from somewhere she was sure about that. But how nobody knows this place other than her. Was it a ghost?
"Pagal hai kya Bondita din mein bhoot kaise aa sakte hain aur wo bhi itni pyaari awaaj ke saath. " she said to herself in her mind.
She heard a sweet laughter then. She let aside some branches from the tree and saw a man crouching down by the riverside playing with puppies . His back was to her. She watched him play with those little stray puppies. It melted her heart. She smiled. The way he was stroking one's head it made her wonder that men can be soft too? She wanted see this man's face. Oh she so want to see his face. She wanted to see him who was so lovingly playing with her small friends.
And just then he turned. Her world stopped. There he stood, amidst the dappled sunlight filtering through the trees, unaware of her presence. Her breath caught in her throat as her gaze locked onto him, her heart pounding in a rhythm that echoed through the silent woods.
She watched him with a mixture of awe and longing, marveling at the way his eyes lit up with fascination as he observed a delicate butterfly dancing through the air and resting on one of the puppie's nose .
Her lips curved into a soft smile, a blend of shyness and affection. She wished she could freeze this moment in time, etching his image into her memory forever. Every detail—the tousled hair, the earnest expression, the way he seemed at one with nature—enraptured her.
Suddenly he met her eyes.
She jerked open her eyes and sat up straight. She looked around and saw she was not in her room. It was a office. There were lots of certificates hanging on the wall and her gaze stuck at one photo.
A photo of him holding his degree. And she fell all over again. The memories which were buried in unconscious realm came back to the surface. His smiling face in the photograph reminded her of the exact moment she fell in love with. At first sight. She didn't know when she got up and make her way towards the photo. She didn't realize that her eyes were suddenly wet.
She jerked back when she heard some voices. Two men entered the office arguing about something. One of them looked at her direction and immediately stopped his conversation.
" thank God tum uth gayi. Mujhe to darr tha ki tum tapak gayi. "he chuckled a little but seeing her serious he stopped.
" tum khaana layi ho apne saath? " another man asked. She thought for seconds then shook her head in no.
" jaldi jaldi main bhul gayi " she said." koi baat nahi. Chaho to hamaare saath kha sakti ho. Waise bhi doctor ne kaha hai tumhe uthte hi khana dene ko "he said .the first man elbowed him but he ignored. She looked a little bit hesitant . He noticed it.
" daro mat. Sir ne hume sab kuch sikhaya hai lekin ek ladki ko disrespect karna kabhi nahi sikhaya. " he gave her a small smile. She nodded and smiled back.
" jaldi khana khaa lo phir Sir tumhara interview lenge. Abhi lunch ke liye gaye hain ate hi honge " he said. Then the other man smacked him on the head." kya hai ? Kyun baar baar maare jaa raha hai? " he said.
" naam kya tera sasur ake puchega "the other man whispered.
"tujhe itni khujli ho rahi hai to tu hi puchle "
