So, Lukas is one of those guys who doesn't pay much attention to his phone or his notifications. He's the type of person that, if I were offered a million dollars to call someone who doesn't pick up the phone, I would definitely call him.
The problem is that I tend to be a texting girl. I prefer texts over calls. He, on the other hand, prefers calls over texts. So you know that our communication is a mess. But it's still there, so I guess we are good.
The thing is that, if I want to text him, I have to send lots of texts until he notices because otherwise, I would be sending him a meme today, and he would be answering 3 months later. At first, I would get a bit annoyed, but as our friendship has continued, I have learned to make it a funny part of our friendship.
One time, I did a competition, guessing how many stickers I could send before he answered. I got to 5, which got me bumped because I wanted to reach 10 XD. Another time, I texted him, but he didn't answer, so the follow-up message said, "Help me decide whether I should tattoo an iguana or eat it." And then, there was the time the follow-up text was an announcement that I was pregnant and that he had to be back in town in time for the baby shower.
His responses to these messages are always really funny, and as I said, I have taken this part of our friendship as some funny skit we do every once in a while.
The thing is that yesterday, I texted him, and as usual, he didn't answer, so my follow-up text was, "Hey, I'm getting married, and you are the ring bearer. I need you to start looking for a tux and be ready for rehearsals."
Eventually, he answered, following the joke as well. We then started texting normally, and I was talking to him about some future plans I had when I finished saying, "The best part is that my future husband approves."
He then asked me: "Who are we talking about?"
To which I responded: "My future husband, of course. The one I am marrying. And you will be the ring bearer at the event."
To which he responds: "Oh, yeah, the one you've been hiding?"
Here, I sent him a voice memo reassuring him that, "You know there's no one. It's a joke like the other ones. I always add funny things at the beginning because you don't answer texts unless they involve drama somehow".
He laughed but then said: "I still don't know about the husband part, though." (I think he meant that I sent fake things to catch his attention, but he still didn't know about the husband part being fake).
So, as a joke, and I truly mean as a joke because we have joked using this phrase many, many times before, I text: "Is someone jealous?" along with a meme.
To which he responds: "Why are you like this? 😂"
To which I respond: "U jelly?" with another meme.
To which he responds: "Wow."
To which I respond: "You're not answering, though."
