A week later, Mikayla was in the library, freaking the fuck out. The way Pitch was making her feel was causing her to question everything she thought she knew about herself. She couldn't shake the intense attraction she felt towards him, despite knowing that getting involved with a friend could complicate things even further.

Pitch made her feel so alive and desired in a way she had never experienced before. She couldn't ignore the electricity between them, but she also couldn't ignore the potential consequences of crossing that line with someone she cared about so deeply.

The more she thought about it, the more she realized that her feelings for Pitch were becoming more than just a passing crush. Mikayla had noticed that Pitch seemed to be acting differently around her lately, as if he was also struggling with his own feelings.

It was like he knew exactly what she needed, when she needed it, and how she needed it. It was both comforting and unnerving to feel so understood by someone who had previously been just a friend. Something nagged at the back of Mikayla's mind, telling her that something had shifted between them, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Despite the uncertainty, she couldn't deny the growing connection between them, which seemed to transcend friendship. Something else told her that something massive was about to go down, but she had no idea as to what it could be. Mikayla groaned inwardly at the thought of the impending change, but she also felt a strange sense of excitement at the unknown possibilities that lay ahead.

She knew that change was inevitable, but she was determined to embrace it with an open mind and heart. As she reflected on her evolving relationship with her friend, Mikayla couldn't help but feel grateful for the strange bond they shared and the potential for growth that lay ahead. But the more she thought about it, she found herself unable to deny the fact that maybe, just maybe...falling in love wouldn't be so bad.

Especially if it was with someone who truly understood and accepted her for who she was, like Pitch. Mikayla bit her lip, feeling extremely anxious about the possibility of falling for her friend. She knew it was risky, but she also couldn't ignore the flutter of excitement in her chest at the thought of what could be. As she took a deep breath and made a decision to explore these feelings, she couldn't help but wonder where this new path might lead.

"There you are!"

Mikayla shrieked loudly in surprise, just about jumping out of her skin, before whirling around and glaring at Pitch, who was laughing so hard, he had tears in his eyes.

"You scared me half to death," she scolded, but she couldn't help but smile at his infectious laughter. The sound of his laughter was deep, rich, and downright musical, causing her heart to skip a beat. Mikayla couldn't deny the warmth that spread through her as she realized how much she enjoyed being around him.

"I-I'm s-so s-sorry!" Pitch wheezed between laughter, trying to compose himself. Mikayla couldn't stay mad at him for long, his joy was too contagious. Mikayla just stared at Pitch, her anger melting away as she found herself smiling softly at him. Pitch grinned back at her, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

"You're impossible," Mikayla said, shaking her head in mock exasperation. Pitch's grin widened, his laughter fading into a mischievous chuckle.
