"Do me a favor and don't die, okay??!"
"I'll do my beessttt-" Noah exclaimed in squealing laughter, her words fading the further down she went. Snow sprayed behind her in her trail, indenting the smooth white surface below their skis.
"Okay Milan, are you ready?" The green eyed and average heighted instructor asked with an Italian accent.
"Ready as I'll ever be," she then sighed with a look that made him chuckle. "Let's do this before I change my mind- come on-" she waved a hand for him to get behind her.
"As you wish," the man snickered, easing onboard with her back to his front. "Knees bent and sturdy, yes?"
"Yes," she nodded with nerves.
"Alright and we're gonna hutch forward a bit, like this..." Seeing the bottom of the mountains from so high up, Milan had to close her eyes not to think about drastically falling. "And on three we're gonna take off, okay?"
"Okay..."
"Okay," knowingly then, he smiled behind her covered head. "One-"
"AHHH RAFAEL I HATE YOUUU!!" She screamed on their way down as her instructor laughed heartily behind her, making sure they were safe.
Out of breath and frosted in the face, Milan blinked her fears away and forced her eyes open to get a view of the vast sea of white, the people down below appearing as small ants to her. Even though she was scared at the beginning, the mere beauty of such scenery made her pause to absorb it all, now rendering her breathless in an entirely different aspect.
Noah was smiling and giggling, along with her tall and broody instructor as they applauded the two coming down.
"Not so bad huh?" Rafael chuckled once they came to a sliding stop, spraying a brief line of snow like tires running across a puddle of water.
"Yeah yeah some guide you are," she cut her eyes back at him jokingly, catching her breath still. Their last time skiing, Noah and Milan had the same two instructors, and she and Rafeal had quickly become quite the sarcastic and playful pair in just three days.
Now out of her skis, Noah waltzed over to her fiancé with a bright smile, her puffs of air visible in the cooled climate.
Milan found her adorable, for she was clad in a beanie with sunset colored goggles on top, a blizzard jacket, and insulated snow bib pants, all in black. It contrasted her own rather bright wardrobe, the orange standing out amidst neutrals and white.
"How was it?"
"I think I've developed a fear of heights," Milan exhaled into their hug as Noah chuckled before kissing both her cheeks, cradling her face. "How was yours?"
"Phenomenal," she replied once her lover kissed her lips next, having her beam with no assistance from the sun.
Mirroring it, Milan took a sighing glance back to the top of the enormous rock where they'd just slid from. When finding Noah's gaze once more, she merely grinned.
