Intuition is rather simple, yet complex.

Where it comes from can sometimes be so easy to tell, as is where it's directed.

Detection blinks off a subtle warning in a woman's brain, giving her a power held to no other man, and with no other explanation than that it simply came from within. That she just knew...

At times it can play out right then, the alert spiking right before an action takes place. But then again, other times it can take a while to unfold. Often leaving a woman with none other than the whisper of a feeling deep in the pit of her gut.

Unexplained, though not unknown.

From where I sat in the back of one of my personal favorite courtrooms here, I could already tell who was going to take this case home with a win. And I was utterly proud of her to say the least.

Judge Pearson's gravel struck throughout the room just before his deep and clear words followed.

"The court will hear the defense's closing arguments now. Ms. Montgomery," he nodded to where she was beginning to stand. "You have the floor."

"Thank you Judge." Her tone was clear and direct and confident, in the way it only was in a professional setting. Hearing it had always made me hold back a smirk, even since I had first met her. "On May 7th, Michelle Fields was charged with assault by Daniel Allen, after attending a party one night and making more mistakes than she could count," she began.

Listening, I sat here with my right leg crossed over my left, slouched a bit with sunglasses on and a rather tall man in front of me on purpose. A black pantsuit gloved my body as the flare of my pants flowed just past my black heels. Engaged, my eyes followed every one of my fiancé's movements while she spoke.

Gray dress pants hugged her figure impossibly well as a pinstripe navy blazer folded at her arms, and a fine white button down resided underneath it. Her hair was a bit longer within its loose waves flowing just past her shoulders, parted down the middle and all pushed to the back as diamond earrings pierced her revealed ears, matching the necklace at her sternum.

White pointed heels that peeked just from beneath the flare of her pants clicked against the floors as she neared closer to the jury, credence filling the language of her body just as it did her voice.

"Now, what is a fact is that she did assault Mr. Allen, yes," Milan nodded in thought while slowly taking her steps to the other end of the jury's chambers. "To have justice is to have truth, am I right?" Her head picked up to make eye contact with many of them as they nodded, some with small grins. "However, what also matters a significant deal is the intent and circumstances behind those truths. Which, may I remind you, is why we are here today."

A smile threatened to crack the line of my lips at those words as I watched her.

Only a few times, though carefully used, had I used those words just the same, knowing my jury well and knowing that it would crack through the barrier between them and I with utmost efficiency.
