Tonight didn't necessarily go better than I expected. But it didn't go any worse either, I suppose.

Especially by the end, tensions were quite low and settled before Milan's parents retired to bed, after the four of us had talked and laughed in the living room. I had her rest while I cleaned the kitchen and dining room afterwards, even as she pouted about me not letting her help.

She'd done plenty all before I even opened my eyes this morning, and I honestly could only imagine all the things going through her mind after everything that happened this evening. I wanted to do as much as I could to ease her and get her to relax.

Her mother is....a challenge, to say the least.

Milan had warned me of how she could be, but I don't think I truly grasped all that she had meant until today. Not even on Thanksgiving, when we'd gathered last in Texas, was she that way. But I suppose it was due to all three of her children being present, not just one.

After dressing in pink satin pajama shorts with a matching satin and lace tank top, I exited my closet with a sigh, heading to the bathroom.

Standing before the wide mirror, she was brushing her hair with slowness and calmness, wearing black boy shorts and a tank top of her own. Coming around to sneak behind her with my hands finding her hips to slide around her waist, I kissed the back of her shoulder before resting my chin there.

The action had Milan pause a bit, the quiet of her sigh audible up close as her dazed eyes found mine through the reflection.

"She seemed genuinely pleased," she said, letting me know that her mother's approval was once again occupying her thoughts. Knowing there was more, I simply held her close to me while her head leaned onto mine. "I hope it stays that way..."

"Would it change anything if it doesn't?"

Slowly, a soft smile soon tugged Milan's lips as she rubbed on my arms. "No. I'd still marry you even if the whole world was against it," she said, causing me to blush and grin as she turned in my arms.

Resting my crossed hands lower on her behind, they lazily rubbed there as both her arms draped over my shoulders, hugging me close.

"The whole world, hm?"

"And every other," she whispered in a way that made me smile before her hand took hold of my chin and her lips serenely captured mine. In it was a series of emotions and feelings that I understood in no time.

Saying 'I love you' in response, I allowed the tip of my tongue to grace hers as I held her closer, now subtly grabbing her behind upon our lips smacking.

One of my hands then traveled up under her shirt while the other kept its gentle yet firm hold, craving skin to skin contact and more of her warmth against me. Our kiss was utterly slow, as was the synced movement of our heads and the dance of our tongues as Milan hugged me even tighter, soon bringing a loving hand to my cheek.
