Omniscient"Milan Amira Montgomery...Will you marry me?..."
Silence and stillness warped the world around her, rendering every little thing and every little sound to proceed in slow motion as her eyes stared wondrously into her lover's. Time had stopped, and so had her heart, and so had her breathing. Noah's knowing smile melted her from the inside out, withering her to a puddle of substances on the wood of the platform that they stood on.
She would never be sure how she managed to get so lucky.
Mustering the will to answer, she inhaled the shallowest of breaths upon the return of air to her lungs.
"Y-Yes..." It was whispered so softly, the woods nearly swallowed it in audio.
But as it was paired with gentle nodding, along with the curl of her lips into an emotional frown, Noah received her answer loud and clear. Not to mention the seal of the deal once her hand was tugged for her to stand, the soft cries of Milan's voice bracing her ear as they embraced profoundly.
That then turned into emotional giggles from the two of them as Noah lifted her lover just an inch to spin a single circle.
Allowing her back to the ground, Noah then pulled away to take Milan's shaking left hand, all the while wiping her tears, keeping her stunning makeup in mind.
"Baby that looks like it cost more than a mansion," she whispered in awe as the ring was slid onto her finger. And upon Noah's non verbal response, paired with a knowing smirk, her eyes widened with a flicker up to the woman. "Noah-"
"Aht aht-" She cut her off with a kiss before Milan could ask. "Every other question besides that one is allowed. It's from Rome, Italy, and that's all you need to know-"
Milan's eyes widened further as she was led to sit at the dinner table. "Rome, Noah?!"
"Okay maybe I shouldn't have told you that either," the older woman chuckled, laying a white cloth across her lap. "Wine, sweetheart?"
Shaking her head as the waiter poured and an alluring song began to softly play in the background, Milan inhaled another breath, her gaze immensely adoring upon Noah.
"Was this always the plan?" she decided to ask, amongst the million other things she'd been thinking.
"No," Noah shook her head, taking a brief sip. "Your birthday and the proposal were supposed to be separate occasions, and the proposal was supposed to come first. But then the shipping got delayed and my niece spilled the beans, and I decided to just combine them, knowing you wouldn't expect me to. You can thank your sister for that by the way-"
"I knew it," the woman softly exclaimed, more so to herself. It made Noah laugh. "I knew you two were up to something, but I just thought she knew about your plans before, not all of this-" she motioned a hand around them.
"Yeahh, she told me you trapped her in the dressing room like a crazy person to see what she knew," Noah chuckled.
Rolling her eyes, Milan huffed. "She said you'd kill her if she did-"
"And she was right," the older woman said cooly, casually sitting her glass back down. Then upon the silent look Milan gave, she responded with a wink and smirk, having the younger woman look away in a mild blush.
Dinner was served, and they ate with their gazes hardly wishing to leave one another.
There was something about speaking with their eyes instead of words that the two couldn't get enough of. So much was said, and understood, with that form of communication as they enjoyed the evening under the sunset, water stream, and swaying trees. Their attraction, love, longing, and desire...
