~ Two Weeks Later ~
Omniscient
After what felt like years of sufferable pain over all parts of their bodies, Noah and Milan were glad to have at least an ounce of it subside with the passing of their concussions.
Now, the sun was able to shine freely through their windows, for their home had been ghostly dark since the moment they arrived home from the hospital. They could move from their beds more than once a day, although even that was still proving to be somewhat of a struggle, for Milan more so than Noah.
The cuts on the soles of her feet made it hard to walk after some time, but Noah felt the need to push herself today. She had grown tiresome of the same four walls and the same reruns of her favorite shows. Her mother hovering around her every second to make sure that she was alright didn't necessarily make it any better either.
She simply needed air. Fresh, and bare, and laced with morning dew that collaborated perfectly with the sunrise.
"If you gonna be out here against doctor's orders then at least sit your behind in a chair, Noah Simone." Her mother spoke in gentle scolding while sitting a hot cup of coffee on the smooth wooden table.
Craning her neck over her shoulder, Noah bit back a chuckling smile as she obliged at last, scooting back from the glass balcony on crutches. Resting in one chair while her mother went to the other side of the table to occupy the other, her own coffee cup in hand, the woman kept her gaze out onto the sea of orange, pink, lavender, and baby blue.
"How is she?" she asked after a long quiet moment, now taking the cup on the table that her mother and Brynn had brought back from a cafe.
Glancing at her daughter, Josephine peered down at her own cup before looking back at the view. "You should go see for yourself, Tink."
"Hm," Noah nodded, unable to hide her silent agreement before she breathed out a gentle breath through her nose, her eyes still on the sky. "Maybe later..."
Thinking of Milan, for she always did whether she was upset with the woman or not, Noah simply took another sip of her apple cinnamon flavored drink, her finger softly tapping the cup.
It wasn't that she was avoiding Milan. Well, not necessarily. They were in separate rooms, per suggestion for the first week, but Noah went to see her lover everyday at least once.
Only, she sometimes would find herself doing so just once... and never more than twice.
Milan wasn't in condition to leave her room just yet, for their place had stairs and the farthest the younger woman could go was to the bathroom or down the hall. Her injuries still caused her fatigue and pain, less now than before, and for most of the day she was asleep, only waking up to either bathe or eat. Having suffered from internal bleeding, a fractured radius, a deep bruising within her spine and collarbone, her most pressing was the injury within her brain.
In combination with her concussion, Milan's head trauma revealed to be rather minor in regards to how bad it could've been; resulting in memory loss, paralysis, or death. But it did cause her some vomiting and nausea on top of her extensive fatigue and drowsiness. Certain foods she couldn't stomach to eat and at first she could hardly even keep down water.
She hated it, too.
How weak it made her feel and how it seemed to undo all the effort she had just put in towards her eating disorder. To do well, and to get better...
Her parents had just left the state of Illinois about two days ago, for it was them and Josephine taking care of the couple at first. After insisting that it was okay that they go home- once the duration of their concussions was soon over- she could feel the absence of her lover's presence even more, now that her mother and father were no longer taking turns coddling her.
