Nidal tried to pick me up as he usually does when we walk home together, but because of my wrist and him not knowing, I pushed him away with my good hand.

"Are you okay?" He asked concerned.

"Yes, just not in the mood." I said, looking down.

"Was Mr Johnson being annoying?" He questioned.

I shook my head.

He tried to hold my hand, but I turned around, shrieking.

He grabbed my shoulders and span me around to face him.

"Look, you're being weird. Tell me what's wrong. I want to help!" He said.

I shoved him off me and ran. I heard him running after me.

"Y/n!" He yelled as I ran across the road.

But it was too late. I saw the truck coming. I heard it screeching as the driver slammed on the breaks. But he wasn't quick enough.

I was thrown across the road and lay unconscious ten meters away from the vehicle.

I didn't see Nidal running over screaming.

The driver running over bending down to check on me.

Gabby sprinting from our house when Nidal called.

The ambulance racing over lights flashing sirens blaring.

The huge crowd of school kids and parents watching.

The police turning up to control the crowd and question witnesses.

Cameras flashing and filming.

Getting loaded into the ambulance with Gabby.

Nidal getting into the police car to be taken home and questioned further.

The doctors rushing me into emergency surgery.

Gabby waiting outside with three nurses trying to comfort her.

The doctor coming out saying these seven words that shattered Gabbys heart.

"We don't think she will make it..."
