The next day rolled around quicker than Evelyn had expected. Yet again, she had neglected to sleep for the third night in a row but she as technically unconscious so that counts.

At least, it did to her.

But because she was the first one awake, she got the first training session with Charles. She couldn't help but notice the flush in his cheeks when he saw her walk towards him outside.

His eyes trailed down her body, taking note of how her unzipped jacket highlighted the curves of her waist and how the shorts she wore clung to her thighs. He cleared his throat and looked away, hoping she hadn't noticed but judging by the smirk on her face, she definitely had.

"Something on your mind, Professor?" she asked, repeating his words from last night. "No, nothing. Just uh...thinking about your...training" he nodded rather unconvincingly and she chuckled. "So, what would like me to do?" she asked as she came to a stop next to him, the two standing next to the lake.

"Well, the only time I've seen you use your gift was when I was underwater and having a mental argument with Erik" Charles said. "What, you couldn't focus on more than that?" she teased. "Slightly preoccupied" he held his hand up with his fingers close together and she grinned.

"And when you moved the droplets of water in that strip club, although you were the one who was unfocused" Charles continued. "Slightly preoccupied" she copied him and he laughed. "Show me what you can do" Charles gestured to the lake and she smiled. She raised her hand and waves started flowing through the lake lapping against the back where they were standing.

Charles smiled as she lifted up her hand, water flowing up in tendrils before separating from the lake, moving through the air in a pattern to form an infinity sign. "Beautiful" he breathed, stepping closer to it. Evelyn smirked as she saw an opportunity to mess with his and she raised her other hand, a small ball of water forming at his feet where he couldn't see and she brought it towards her.

She lifted it behind his back and above his head before dropping it, the water drenching his hair and shirt. He gasped in shock and spun around while also stepping backwards, causing him to slip and fall into the lake.

And that did it for Evelyn.

She burst out laughing and the water went crashing back into the lake as she bent over at the waist, her hands on her knees as Charles surface, his hair in front of his face. That only made Evelyn laugh harder as she fell to the floor, clutching her stomach as she gasped for air, tears rolling down her cheeks.

"That is not funny" Charles tried to sound as serious as possible but couldn't help but laugh at himself, pushing the hair out of his face. "Some help would be appreciated" Charles chuckled and she crawled over to him, offering her hand while continuing to laugh.

He took her hand and smirked before pulling her into the lake, causing her to scream before being silenced by the splash of the water.

It was Charles' turn to laugh now as she came back up, her hair sticking to her face. "How dare you!" she gasped in fake shock as she splashed him with water. "You started it!" he protested, pushing the hair out of his face again.

"It's not my fault you're clumsy!" she laughed as she lifted herself out of the water using her powers. "Don't pull me back in" she warned as she offered him her hand once more. He shook his head as he grabbed her hand, Evelyn pulling him up but slipping on the now wet grass, sending them both crashing to the floor.

Charles landed on top of her, his hands on either side of her head so he didn't flatten her and Evelyn froze, her face going bright red at their close proximity. Charles' breath caught in his throat as he found himself examining her different colored eyes and he smiled softly when he saw Evelyn examining his.
