The car ride was cramped and stuffy. After the three of them had dried off, Moira drove them to what Evelyn assumed was Charles' apartment. "There are two bedrooms, both containing double beds. Evelyn, you can take my bed, Moira you can have the spare bed. I'm sure Erik and I will manage on the couches" Charles explained as they stepped inside.

Moira immediately went to the room, shutting the door behind her. "Erik, you can have the other bed. You need the rest" Evelyn smiled and Erik hesitated. "It's fine, don't worry" she nodded and Erik sighed before walking into Charles' bedroom, shutting the door behind him.

"Would you like extra pillows?" Charles asked as they both sat on their respective couches. "I'm alright. Thank you though" Evelyn smiled softly as she watched him fluff up the pillows as best as he could.

"You know, I normally at least get to the second date before I get invited to bed" Evelyn said after a moment, causing Charles' head to snap up to look at her. "I didn't-I-that's not what I..." Charles stuttered and Evelyn giggled. "You are adorable when you're flustered" Evelyn smirked softly and Charles went a bright shade of pink.

"And when you blush" Evelyn continued and Charles smiled softly, looking away.

"Charles?" Evelyn asked after a few moments and he looked back at her, eyebrows raised. "Have you ever been in my head?" Evelyn asked softly, fiddling with her fingers. "Just once" he smiled, walking up to her. "The bar?" Evelyn assumed and he nodded.

"What made you ask?" he frowned, crouching down in front of her. "I doubt you'd like what you saw if you were to look in my head" she chuckled but there was no amusement in her tone. "I will never look into your head without your permission. I promise" Charles smiled at her and she smiled back.

"You should get some sleep" he said. "That'd be a miracle" she sighed and Charles looked at her. "Do you struggle with sleeping?" he asked. "Yeah, most nights" Evelyn nodded. "I do as well. I can help, if you'd like?" he offered, tapping his temple. "You can put people to sleep?" Evelyn asked, a smile creeping onto her face.

"I can" he nodded. "What about you? How will you sleep?" she asked. "Oh, it's likely I won't. But it's alright" he shrugged her off. "Then I'll stay up with you" she smiled. "I can't ask you to do that" he shook his head. "Bit of luck you aren't asking then" she smirked before shifting over, allowing room for him to sit next to her.

"Why don't you tell me more about yourself?" she suggested as the two sat next to each other.

They stayed up for hours, talking about anything and everything they could think of, and they both eventually fell asleep in the early hours of the morning. When Moira and Erik walked in at around six in the morning, they saw Evelyn and Charles asleep on the couch, cuddled together.

Evelyn had her head resting on Charles' chest and he had his arms wrapped around her so she didn't fall off. "Strictly business, my ass" Erik muttered before Moira woke them both up.

Evelyn startled as Charles woke up and she jerked backwards, falling off the couch with a thud and a small yelp. Erik couldn't help but laugh at her as Moira covered her mouth, hiding her amusement. "God, are you alright?" Charles asked as she jumped to her feet, her cheeks tinged with red. "Fine" she answered quickly, flipping off Erik, who was still laughing.

Once they were all ready, Moira drove them to the facility.

"Welcome to my facility" Suit Man said. "My mission has been to investigate the application of paranormal powers in military defense" he continued. "Or offense" Erik said from beside Evelyn, who smiled.

"This guy Shaw, Shmidt, whatever you wanna call him - he's working with the Russians. We might need your help to stop him" Suit Man said. "Marvelous. So we are to be the CIA's new mutant division, yes?" Charles assumed.
