I'm sorry I have little to no motivation to right now chapters will be shorter and they will not have headings because I just don't have the time.
March 10, 2015
Bucky and Virginia had not talked once in the almost 30 days since Bucky got his memory back. It's not like Virginia didn't try it just that Bucky was either ignoring her or told her to leave him alone.
It was breaking Virginia's heart. It was a weight that just got stronger every day.
On March 10th, 2015 it was Bucky's 98th birthday. Virginia had already made him a card and gift when Steve informed her that he didn't want to celebrate it. Virginia was truly saddened by the news but she told Steve to keep the gift she made him wrapped and away from sight.
To say the least, she was embarrassed and hurt. That day the only gift Virginia gave Bucky was solitude as she didn't speak to him once.
That night Virginia woke up at a late hour to screaming in the room next to her. Steve, Sam, and Natasha were all on a mission; Fury had thought that he found a remaining HYDRA base and sent the trio to take them out.
Ginny didn't have many other friends in the compound so she spent a lot of time reading Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and rereading the lord of the Rings. The night of Bucky's birthday, Virginia spent most of her day in her room. She read all day while she could hear people outside wishing Bucky a happy birthday or whatnot.
That night Virginia was asleep until 3 AM when she woke up to a loud screaming. She shot out of bed and looked around. The screaming had stopped,
Maybe I was the one screaming Virginia thought but was proven wrong when another scream sounded from next to her room. Virginia shot up before grabbing slippers, and her glasses and running to the room next to hers; Bucky's.
"Jamie?" She asked hesitantly running into the room only to find him thrashing around on the floor shirtless under a thin blanket. "Jamie!"
Virginia ran to the screaming man before taking hold of his shoulders and shaving him-begging him to wake up. "Jamie! Jamie, Come on, wake up." Suddenly his eyes shot open and he shot up with a loud gasp before bringing his metal arm to her throat.
His eyes were cold; not his own but the Winter Soldier's. Virginia kicked his ribs and jumped back. Slowly a recognition came upon him and his eyes widened
"Virginia?" He looked down at his hands and back up at her "Virginia! I am... So.... sorry..." He apologized slowly. Apologizing was never his strong suit.
"No, no, don't be." She said softly "You had a nightmare and I am almost 100% sure you didn't want to be haunted by memories." She said half joking and half sympathizing.
"Why did you come in here?" He asked looking back up to Virginia, meeting her eyes through her round spectacles.
"I wanted to help you,"
"Haven't you done enough?" He said with a bit of annoyance lacing his voice and maybe... even a hint of... sadness? No. He is just stressed and scared from the terror.
"Alright, I'll leave you be, then." Virginia turned to the door and started to walk out, "Sorry for... um... I don't know. I'm just sorry."
"Right," "Goodnight," She said before closing the door behind her. Bucky lay back onto his little mattress on the floor with a heavy sigh while silently cursing himself.
