Sam and Steve were pretty pissed. Steve refused to admit it, and Sam was overly verbal about it. Virginia had been let out of the medical rooms with a 'doctor's note for no training for two days.
But that wasn't what made Sam and Steve mad. No. It was the fact that Bucky and Virginia were not talking again.
Nobody knew why but in the kitchen when Bucky joined them all to get an apple, he was greeted with Virginia walking right out of the room and bumping her shoulder into his. Steve knew that it was hard because it pushed Bucky back.
Now, it was lunchtime and the entire team was eating together. Courtesy of Tony trying to make Wanda and Pietro feel more comfortable. (It was mostly because he found out that he kinda killed their parents. Yeah... he felt bad).
Someone had decided that they were going to have arranged seating (Probably Steve) and someone decided that Virginia and Bucky were going to sit next to each other (also probably Steve) and that might have been the worst decision he could have made in a long time.
Some of the people seemed to see that tension that sat between the two of them as they strictly sat in silence eating Burger King takeout that Tony had also insisted on. Clint and Natasha were spending time trying to make the tension less obvious.
"So, Wanda, Pietro, How are you liking it here?" Clint asked differently for the fifth time in ten minutes.
"It's nice." Wanda smiled gratefully at Clint "Everything is much more organized and it all has a process that works better than Sokovia." Pietro nodded in agreement. His eyes are still on Virginia. To anyone, it was the most obvious thing that he had a crush on the woman.
It was also something Sam had yet to tell Pietro, that Virginia was nearly 100 years old. So Virginia sat looking at her food occasionally sharing glares at Bucky or was always watching the back of her head, hardly eating his food.
"Ginny," Tony broke the silence again. Everybody looked at him "Can I talk to you in the lab after everyone is done?" Virginia nodded and she made eye contact with Steve who seemed to be very disappointed in Bucky and her silent bickering.
She shrugged and looked back at her empty plate. Bucky stood up and left the table taking his plate with him. Virginia glared at him as he left and went to the kitchen. She shortly followed,
"What the hell?" She demanded once in the kitchen. "Why'd you leave?"
"I didn't want to be in there." He said coldly
"Well none of us do but we all are!" Ginny argued, her voice getting louder as a distant tone of anger rose to the surface.
"Stop telling me what to do," Bucky grunted
"I will once you start acting normally!"
"You are the one acting strangely here!" He argued back. Virginia straightened herself and gave him a confused look
"What do you mean?" She asked calmly, he voice toning down drastically
"You are stepping out of your skin and losing your temper. You haven't done that since-" Virginia cut him off
"Don't finish that sentence. Don't. You Dare." She said strictly "You know what, do whatever the hell you want. I don't care. Just stay out of my way." Virginia stormed out of the room and went to her bedroom where she opened the window and sat in her now open window.
It was dark and it was evident that it was about to storm. Slowly it started to rain. Virginia still sat in the big open window and let herself get drenched in the rainwater as if it was a call back to reality.

The entire team had heard the argument and though the words didn't mean much to any of them, the emotion was there and they knew how the words stung each party differently.
Steve sighed and rubbed his face. Natasha rested her hand on his back trying to offer the man some much-needed comfort. "I swear that they used to be closer," Steve promised the team though his words were muffled through his hands. "They loved each other... well Bucky loved her."
"What happened?" Pietro asked, having had no context for the argument.
"Time," Steve said, grimacing and looking at Nat who gave him a small smile.
"What the hell does that mean?" Pietro asked Wanda who just shrugged

It took Virginia a while to cool off. Normally she would be good in just 10 or fewer minutes but something about Bucky that day just set her off.
Eventually, she made her way down to Tony's lab, he was sitting there working on one of his (many) suits, and he looked up and smiled as she walked in.
"I didn't know if you were still planning on coming," He teased, Virginia smiled shyly,
"Sorry for storming out at lunch," She apologizes quickly and quietly, "What do you need?"
"So, we found the base you were being kept at on pure luck and Natasha's ability to think, but we don't know anything about what was going on at HYDRA and the twins don't know either-"
"Wait.... You asked the twins before me?"
"...No, I don't want to ask too much of them," Tony admitted quietly
"Wow, okay, I didn't see that coming, but I interrupted, what were you saying?"
"Um, yeah, can you just tell me and JARVIS all you know about it." Tony turned to call out to the AI
"J, could you start recording?"
"Yes Sir," JARVIS said simply with his random British accent. Virginia had to ask about that later,
"Okay," She said after a minute, "So I know who was running, a woman named Sylvia Schmidt. I'm pretty sure that other bases were being made in Sokovia, in northern Russia and that was being built in with the Red Room-"
"Sorry to interrupt, but what's the Red Room?"
"It's a Russian organization that trains girls. Ask me about it later when you aren't recording us. There is a base in Budapest and the Netherlands. That's all I know about."
"And sorry, but Sylvia Schmidt is...?" Tony asked
"Red Skull's granddaughter. Look I know, it's a weird thought that he has family but it is what it is. Also, she is planning to make a new generation of HYDRA and before she kills the world or starts world war 3, we have to stop her." Ginny tightly smiled at Tony
"Real way, to state the obvious,"
"Just making it clear"
