Motherhood...

Possibly the most underrated job in the world. Imagine laying in bed, the smallest little smile on your face, dreaming of older women gawking over you, putting you on their laps only to compliment you and stroke your hair. This was the currently peaceful reality for 29-year-old edalyn clawthorne, until tiny hands grasped her neck, and started violently shaking it while the high-pitched cheering of

"MOMMY!!!"

was chanted multiple times until the young woman was scared of her sleep with the instant fear of a random intruder in her house choking her and her daughter in some kind of moral danger. Her body reacted, racing with adrenaline, and grabbed the first body her hands came in contact with, immediately pinning them down. The first thing she realized was it was too easy.

Way too easy...

as the rush cleared from her mind, she saw her 4-year-old daughter looking up at her confused. "Mama? What are you doing?" Her daughter asked, as Eda immediately pulled her into a huge. Stroking her Raven black, messy hair with her opposite hand. "Nothing.." Eda muttered, letting her actions set in that she might have served her 4-year-old with a nasty slap across the face or god forbid a right hook to her chin if she had made the wrong call.

"Good morning Rapsody.. "

The young woman whispered then put her daughter down on her bed. "What did you need, baby?" Eda asked in the calmest voice she could muster despite the fact she was still internally shaking from potentially accidentally assaulting her toddler. "I wanted to make sure you were still alive mama" Rapsody explained, her voice perfectly edged with the high pitch of innocence. "You're so pale, I needed to make sure," she said, then, started wiggling her little body off Eda's bed, a small smile appeared on the young mother's face. Amused with the sight of Rapsody's struggle due to her height. "Do you need help, baby?" Eda asked, using her hands to cover her lips in a lazy attempt to not giggle. "No, I'm okay" Rapsody replied, eventually getting off the bed, and falling on her butt. A small giggle escaped from Eda, as she got out of bed to pick up Rapsody, taking her to her bedroom. "Okay kiddo, we have a busy day today" Eda announced as she put Rapsody on her bed. "You think you can help out Mommy today? And.. Maybe we'll pick up a new toy for you at the store" she suggested, ruffling her daughter's hair with a persuasive smile. "I wanna help you, mommy!" Rapsody beamed.

Such a good girl...

Eda chuckled as she stood up straight. "Awesome, make sure to brush your teeth and you're not wearing your pajamas out today" seeing Rapsody fold her arms after hearing she wouldn't be allowed to put on one of her animal onesies.

It was 78 degrees...

Only 30 minutes later, both of them were dressed, and currently in a race against time. Eda came out of her room, putting her hair up in a high ponytail, while Rapsody played with her hair. "Rapsody baby, don't do that," Eda said, correcting her, then put a pack of pop tarts in the toaster. "Mommy, did you get the marshmallow pop tarts?" Rapsody asked as she climbed into the chair at the table, realizing she was still too small to see over the table so she sat on her knees. Eda chuckled. "Of course, how warm do you want them?" Eda asked, as she for out the carton of raspberries and put them on one of the colorful plastic plates. "Burn it" Eda looked at her daughter, startled by her response.

"What"

Rapsody turned around looking at Eda with a blank expression. "Burn it, I like it mushy in the middle," Rapsody said again. Eda looked at the toaster, then her daughter. "Oh... Okay," she muttered, realizing Rapsody didn't understand what burned it. Ment, so she'd continue with her process. Luckily enough, her phone started ringing, eda looked down and saw the caller ID
