alwayss here...
That bushifts desire in their chest was all for her. It always had been. Watching her now playing with her toddler on the floor, gave her a certain soft side that Raine adored. The wild and her endearing laughter of a child mixed with her jacket starting to fall off her shoulders. It made their blood rush to their cheeks.
Suddenly her oven made a beeping sound, making her gaze immediately shift. "Oh, the macaroni is ready," she said, slowly standing up, pulling the jacket back over her body, and zipping it up.
Damnit
They don't understand why she changed her clothes, her outfit showed off her model-like figure paired with a gorgeous smile they realize has been non-existent the whole time they've been over. Her whole demeanor was different, she was sheepish the entire time, her smiles were weak, and her gaze never met theirs.
While lost in their questioning thoughts, they felt a pulling on their pants leg. They looked down, to see Rapsody sitting on the floor with a smile. "Hi! Is it true you play music?" She asked with her mother's sparkle in her eye. Raine chuckled and nodded joyfully. "Yes, I do, what's your favorite song?" They asked her, expecting to hear some song from a cartoon, heck even a song Eda listens to often.
To the musician's surprise, the little girl got up excitedly and ran off to her bedroom. Eda looked up subtly with a smile putting the macaroni on the counter, then getting out a few plates. Rapsody came back with a tape recorder and handed it sloppily to Raine. "You have- have to press the red button," she said, making them smile wider.
Once they pressed the button it all came crashing in a wave of Nalstogia.
Raines Rapsody
"Mommy said this is how she named me" Rapsody beamed, making Raine immediately look over at the woman. She was none the wiser. "That's.. Very creative" Raine finally replied under their breath. "Rapsody, baby come to eat dinner" Eda announced, making the little girl rush to her feet and the table she was still too small to climb on. Eda gave Rapsody a plate, then said. "Eat your vegetables first" Rapsody pouted. "But Mommy I don't wanna" she complained. Eda chuckled,
"tough"
"What does tough mean?" Rapsody asked, making the woman smirk. "Tough means eat your vegetables or you're not getting a popsicle" Raine chuckled, heard by the woman. She immediately turned her head and walked past them slowly muttering. "You're welcome to anything, Raine.. " they frowned, wondering if they had done anything wrong. "Eda, are you okay?" They asked, reaching out for her. However, she disappeared into her bedroom.
"who's eda?" Rapsody asked Nievely.
Raine looked back, deciding not to explain to a toddler that her mother's name wasn't Mommy.
They would have eaten the food she made. It smelled good after all, but their anxiety protested. They got up slowly and walked up to her bedroom door which was closed. Their heart ached for her, a sympathetic frown on their face. Before the violinist could knock on the door to ask if she was okay, they hesitated. Hearing her soft cries, muffled by what they could only imagine would be her curled up on her bed. They decided against bothering her and sat down back on her couch.
Meanwhile, she was in pitch darkness, trying to stop herself from crying.
She hated crying.
She wanted to be stronger.. So nothing would ever hurt her again.
So anyone could ever hurt her again.
And she lay there slowly pulling herself together, taking her hair down as she wasn't feeling the confidence Necessary to have it up. Remembering such a cruel experience that put a damper on the rest of her day.
