It was another late night of Lilith working in her office. The sun was nowhere to be found hours ago, and the only reason she could still see her work was because of the lamp.
The woman's hair was in disarray, along with her incoherent mumbling as she scribbled away. She again didn't notice when darkis walked into her office. Except he was in purple silk pajamas, groggy and seemingly annoyed. "Lilith, what in the every lasting of fucks are you doing here?" He scowled, rubbing his eyes. Lilith looked up, her gaze confused and in a daze she asked. "Why are you in pajamas?"
Maybe it was because he just woke up
Darius walked up to Lilith, soon standing over the blue haired woman, and held his phone up for her to see. "It's fucking 1 am. why are you still at work?!" He questioned, almost yelling at her. The woman raked through her hair, blinking a few times. "Oh shoot..when did it get so late?" She muttered, then went back to scribbling.
Darius frowned, and took the pen from her. "Go.home" he demanded, aggressively. Lilith was taken aback, because Darius has never spoken to her in such a manner. "Excuse me?.." Lilith asked is disbelief. "Girl, I said take your stupid ass home, who the hell just works till 1 am?!" He asked, raising his voice more. Lilith held the back if her neck nervously, biting her lip. "I-it wasn't my Intention..i must of gotten caught up in my work" Lilith replied, starting to feel guilty. She truly cared about his opinion and what he had to say.
He was her closest friend and after all.
Darius sighed. "You need serious help, I can't keep waking up in the middle of the night to make sure you went home on time" be said, holding the bridge of her nose. "Are you even getting paid overtime for this?" He asked, making Lilith look even more guilty. "W-well.. I was uh.. Happy to do it.." She replied, fiddling with her fingers. Darius sighed, face palming. "Just- get your things together and go home" the man told her, pointing to the door.
Though it felt like he was punishing her as. If she were a child.
"Yeah.. Okay, my bad" she replied, then started getting all of her things together.
While doing so lilith started feeling a throbbing feeling in her head. Her hesitation was clear, as she held her temple. She couldn't figure out why, even during her car ride home. It was as if someone was bashing her head in with a sledgehammer.
If only she knew..
The next day came, and when Lilith woke up, her phone was ringing. She slowly sat up, and saw the caller ID
Darius
She answered the call very confused
"Darius? Are you sure this couldn't wait until I got to the office?"
"Nope, because your not coming to the office"
Lilith looked dumbfounded.
"Are you crazy or what?"
"Neither, your not coming the office today, and that's on period"
Lilith sat there stunned and the audacity and gayness.
"Darius your ignorant if you think I'm not coming to work today"
She said, and started to get up.
"I already called you out, so suck it".
"what?.. Suck what?"
".. Never mind, just take today to relax"
"I'm relaxed at work"
Darius scoffed, there was no way she would be having migraine if she was relaxed at work.
"Lie again. Now go back to bed or something, you workaholic"
The call dropped, leaving the woman perplexed and slightly offended. "I'm not a workaholic.." She muttered to herself.
Lying
Regardless Lilith got up, and made herself tea, since she wasn't a big coffee person.
Jasmine tea to be exact
While sitting down, the blue haired woman started to. Bounce her leg nervously, thinking about all the work she wasn't doing right now. That's all she could think about, how much paper work she wasn't doing, all the people who would be trying to reach her but couldn't.
Once her tea was finished, she drank it slowly and anxiously even though she chose that particular type to help calm her nerves.
And it wasn't working
If only she could relax
Sorry the chapter is short I had a very challenging day at work and wanted to at least five you something.
