Lilith sat in her kitchen, the steam from her jasmine tea swirling around her as she nervously bounced one leg and fidgeted with a strand of her dark blue hair. Her mind was consumed by thoughts of work, unable to shake off the guilt that gnawed at her for not being able to go into the law firm today. Darius had called her out on it his accusation of being a workaholic.

hitting closer to home than she cared to admit.

As Lilith took another sip of tea, she couldn't help but feel restless. The weight of not going into work hung heavy over her head, despite knowing deep down that perhaps taking a day off wouldn't be such a bad thing after all.

Especially since she could start that 10,00 piece puzzle of historical artifacts

She tried distracting herself by reaching for the phone and dialing Eda's number, maybe there was something she could do for her younger sister this morning, just right have some type of work to do.

To the older woman's surprise, when Eda answered groggily on the other end, it dawned upon Lilith that it was only seven in the morning

an hour since she woke up at six

As much as part of her wanted to scold herself for waking up so early without reason or purpose today

of all days

another part felt relieved at having more time before facing any decisions about whether or not going back into work would be worth fretting over, especially since Darius would make her. Go back home any ways.

"Lilith you better have a good reason for waking me up"

Eda said in an irritated tone over the line.

"My apologies.. I just wanted to see if you needed.. A favor perhaps?.. Please"

"Your calling me.. So you can do me a favor?"

Lilith bit her lip, realizing that's exactly what she was asking.

"W-well.. I-i have the day off and.. I-i"

Eda interrupted her.

"I know, you ass clown. I told Darius to call your out of work"

"Excuse me-"

She wasn't sure where to be offended. The  insult or the fact eda made her take a day off against her will

"Yeah, your over working yourself and I won't stand for it. So I told him to call you out, otherwise you'll burn yourself out"

"Edalyn, I appreciate your concern and all.. But I'm fine"

"Bullshit. Now relax"

"Can I do a favor for you or not?"

There was a painful silence for a good minute. And it spoke a thousand words.

"You want to do work for me.. Because you can't go to work?"

".. Yes"

There was a long groan on edas side, making the older woman roll her eyes.

"Motherfucker.. "

"Watch your mouth"

Lilith snapped back. 

"Look, if you really want to do something, you can take care of Rapsody for me today"

"Seriously?"

Lilith asked with a hopeful tone.

"Mhm. I have to work late today and Esmeralda cancelled on me last minute for her next dick appointment"
