Waking up seemed dreadful.  Her head with throbbing violently, and she felt uncomfortable.  "Holy hell.. " she groaned, holding her temple.  She sat up slowly, recognizing her bedroom and a damp towel on her nightstand.    She started to get up, realizing she was still fully dressed, apart from her shoes.   "Hey, you up,"  Darius said, walking into her bedroom.   She was surprised, but it all slowly made sense. "Yeah..how long was I unconscious?"  Lilith asked, the hammering feeling in her skull making it difficult to think.  Her friend handed her a small card. "All day, you can't keep pushing yourself like that"

He sounded upset with her, a feeling she did I like toward herself.  "It was a small inconvenience. I'm fine" She avoided all eye contact with him, already feeling his disapproving glare. "You sound stupid as hell, Lilith"  Darius scowled, putting his hand on his hip.

Lilith looked down at the card, and saw it was the card she'd gotten from that one mother over a court case.  " you can't be serious!" She blurted out, immediately looking at him. "Damn straight I'm serious. I already made the appointment. Saturday at noon" he replied, rocking his neck to the side.  "Absolutely not! I'm not crazy or mentally ill" Lilith protested, slightly offended. "You have OCD and you're a workaholic. You're going by yourself like an adult or I'm dragging you by your ankle" he scowled back, her face immediately softened realizing he might have hurt her feelings.

She turned her head away from him, her sleek dark blue hair becoming a curtain for her face. He slowly pulled her into a hug, exhaling tiredly.  "I was so worried about you, you can't keep doing this... You can't keep overworking yourself"  he told her. Lilith's eyes started to fill with tears, realizing how much her friend truly cared for her.   Planting her face on his shoulder, her tears escaped. Damping the man's shirt.

He didn't realize it until the wetness hit his shoulder.  Smiling softly, he chuckled. "I don't care what you say... You're just like your sister"  She could tell he was teasing, but that's not what she needed right now.

Regardless of the fact, she smiled a little.

She pulled herself together, wiping her tears away.  " thank you Darius" she whispered, as he let her go, taking a step back. "No problem, a little tough love never hurt anyone"  he joked and left her room. Lilith sat down, looking at the card with the name and number of the therapist. "Maybe... It won't be so bad"   she muttered to herself.

The sound of complaining, yelling, and glasses being shattered and chucked at them. Their heart was pounding with a little fear and discomfort from the whole situation.

The one time they finally said no to a ridiculous request of hers, and this is what happens...

"Please stop throwing things" they pleaded with her, then had to duck. Dodging a flying glass that shattered in the cabinets behind them.  "Don't tell me what to do! You so fucking annoying!"  She screamed. Right as she did the door opened randomly, and in walked raines mother. "Raine, what did I say about locking your door-" she paused.

The broken glass, Stephanie's angry face, now tainted with confusion, and her child hiding behind the counter. Slowly they mouthed to her.

Help me.

She frowned, looking at Stephanie. "What the hell is going on? Why are you  so upset?" Tracy asked, attempting to moderate the situation.   "Mind your own business! Get the fuck out!" Stephanie yelled, making raines jaw drop.  Tracy nodded, then grabbed the spoiled woman by her arm and dragged her outside the house, locking the door. She sighed, then looked at Raine. "Did she hit you?" Tracy asked sternly.

Raine gently shook their head no.  "What happened? Why was she so angry?"

Raine stood in the midst of shattered glass, a tangible representation of the chaos that had unfolded moments before. Their mother's concerned gaze Anilated any left over control they had over their emotions. Slow tears training down their face as Raine struggled to find words to explain what had transpired.

With a little comforting from their mother, realised all  pent-up emotions from within. ventimg  to their mother about Stephanie’s cruelty and lack of affection, it became apparent just how much emotional turmoil they endured on a daily basis. Then debunking their recent conversation with Eda at the park two days prior, along with the new feelings that surfaced, feelings that added yet another layer of complexity to an already tumultuous situation. Feeling of emotion infidelity that the bed out to be eating them alive inside with them knowing.

And Tracy Listened to all of it

Sorry the chapter is short.  The rest of the book is about to show some very complicated feelings and turns out I haven't been very good at making everything clear in my writing so I want to do better.  Thank you for still reading and supporting me.
