Kana was still a bit breathless a few minutes after waking up from that weird dream.
Was this really what she had become? Dreaming of him in intimate situations?
Sweat ran through her forehead and a moan almost escaped her as she remembered the circumstances of the dream. Does anyone even have the right to look as hot as he did in her brain?
Well, all things considered, it wasn't exactly new that Kana found this man hot. What was new, however, was dreaming about it.
Her agitated state made it even harder to sleep again and before she knew it, light was streaming from the curtains and Stella was opening the door gently in an attempt not to wake her up.
"I'm awake, Stel"
Kana heard a sigh from her friend when she heard those words.
"How are you?"
"Pain is tolerable now."
"Did you get any sleep at all?"
"Maybe a couple of hours, I don't know for sure."
Her friend silently left the room and came back mere moments later with a mug of coffee and some painkiller for her to take.
"I'm guessing that trying to convince you to stay at home and not go to uni is completely out of the question so let's at least make sure you're half awake when you dive into the lab."
Stella knew her well enough to avoid trying to fight this one thing. Kana couldn't be taken off work as long as she could stand so her condition had to be pretty terrible for her to miss it.
Given that she could now have her eyes open without pain consuming her every movement, it seemed like she couldn't be deterred from going.
It was with no surprise that her day was very unproductive when focusing was almost impossible. Her pain made it so that she couldn't do much and on top of it all, she had also barely slept. It's safe to say that she should have probably stayed home on that day and at the very least, rest would have also been a better idea in comparison to the current state.
You could also bet that Stella would find it more than crucial to keep reminding her that she had been warned. It would be funny if Kana wasn't the one hearing it.
On that day, she didn't go to the ice for the first time in a while. After her return to the TCC, it was very rarely that she missed a session but given how intense her headache still was, going there just seemed like a risk that she wasn't fully willing to take.
You don't want to make an already dangerous activity even more of a risk.
So she went home on that night and faced the scrutinizing look of her best friend who seemed to be convinced that Kana was hiding something from her.
Was she wrong? Maybe not really.
But the true reality was that the only thing that she was really hiding was how there seemed to be this feeling of connection with this man that she barely knew. All interactions with him made her feel like they had known one another for years and that she could trust him wholeheartedly without a single doubt.
And that dreaded dream...
Kana would never have the courage to admit what her dreams about him had been about. Just thinking of the whole thing brought a red tint to her cheeks.
It was too embarrassing. Too out of touch.
She had no right to imagine him like that after just a kiss. Still, as much as she considered things over and over again, there wasn't a single crime in imagining things...
The problem with that dream was what was truly behind it. Kana couldn't explain how it felt so goddamn real, almost like a memory that her brain was suddenly remembering.
She laughed at herself from the very first moment that thought crossed her mind. It was too silly.
Stella didn't seem like she believed her words in the slightest when she denied hiding something but at the same time, Kana knew that she wouldn't approach the subject when she was in pain.
Laying on her bed, desperate for some relief, she closed her eyes and leaned on the comfort of her pillow.
Even with the lights in the room, it took her just a few minutes to finally fall asleep from complete exhaustion.
Kana wasn't sure when she finally fell asleep but she knew how she woke up and the dreams that just kept on showing up.
...
"I will miss you when I go to Canada"
She suddenly heard from the man beneath her as emotions filled the room.
The soft feel of his touches on her skin, the sweat dripping from both their foreheads and the obvious intimacy that was in the air couldn't be faked.
"It's okay, I will visit you every time I can."
"I just don't want to leave you."
"You're not leaving me, silly man... You have to go, you have to fulfil all of your dreams, you promised me you would."
"You could come."
"We both know my parents wouldn't allow that. Besides, you will be around often because of school. It isn't as if you're leaving forever... I can almost bet you will find some hot Canadian girl and forget about me in no time."
"Kana-chan... You have no idea,do you?"
"About what?"
"Just how much I love you."
