It was with swift motions that Kana retrieved her robe and left the room under the scrutinizing gaze of her best friend.
Yuzuru seemed to have chosen to stay on the bed and she didn't blame him. Had she had the choice, that would have probably been her approach too.
Stella stayed silent as she walked out and it was only after the door was closed behind her that the woman finally spoke.
"Holy hell, Kana. That's Yuzuru Hanyu that you have in your bed right now."
"Are you panicking?"
It was no secret that Stella saw Yuzu as some kind of superstar and that was only natural when she had been a skating fan for so long. It was just that for Kana he was just like any other man and it was very easy to dismiss the impact of his presence to others.
"I'm fine...just... I just have so many questions."
The laughter that left her was completely inevitable. None of what was happening surprised her in the slightest. Just a few hours ago, she was still processing most of what was happening as well.
"Yuzu and I are together, I think."
It was weird to talk about it and also, the sheer fact that they hadn't necessarily spoken about what his revelations truly meant for their present lives made it all even more confusing but all at the same time, Kana knew very well what she wanted.
"How? When?"
Only then did she admit to the one thing that was still completely unbelievable in her eyes.
"He... he knew me before. We were...lovers"
Stella took some time to process it all just like Kana had needed before. It was no secret that this was all a big mess that they all had to suddenly understand.
It was funny when it was someone else and you could see every emotion go through their expressions.
"You're not mocking me, are you?"
"No." she admitted straight away, not even showing that as a possibility to her best friend. "The headaches came again and so did some more dreams."
The way she phrased it all was more than enough for Stella to understand that this was a key point.
"Dreams? Are they really dreams?"
"They might be memories."
As soon as she uttered that, her best friend got closer to her and wrapped her arms around her in a tight hug. "Oh, Kana. I just hope you remember everything. It's been way too long."
"They have been getting more common so I have hope."
They were both proud scientists so it wasn't with a lot of surprise that these two didn't waste that much time before trying to figure out every detail behind what was happening to her body.
No, neither of them were doctors, but they sure as hell were good at tying loose thoughts and joining it all together in some sort of coherent thought.
So it took just a few seconds to connect her headaches to the memories and Yuzuru to being the source of her sudden flashbacks.
It was hard to know anything more than that for sure and the truth was that there wasn't much more to connect after that. They easily lost each other in conversation, uncertain of how many hours had passed before the door of the room opened and revealed a eerie-looking Yuzuru, who seemed almost afraid of leaving the room and disturb them.
"Yuzu" Kana mumbled right away, making him smile in the way her voice was just a small gasp, as if affected by the sight of him in her home.
"I tried to stay in the bedroom for a while but now I'm just bored."
Looking at her watch, it wasn't hard to know why. It had been so long that she was surprised he hadn't come out sooner. It wasn't that she forgot about him, it was just that getting lost in conversation with Stella happened more often than not.
Thinking about the circumstances where she left him, her mind slowly but surely drifted to their previous actions. Her eyes running across his body and she managed to just withhold the groan of appreciation that her body wanted to utter.
A single bite of her lower lip was enough to make him eye her with suspicion, understanding what she was going through way too easily given the smirk on his face.
Hadn't Stella been right there, Kana knew these looks wouldn't be too innocent. She couldn't help but wonder if he had done anything to relieve himself of the predicament in which she left him. The mere thought of him desperately touching himself because of her brought heat to her core.
"Are you two done eye-fucking each other?" her friend suddenly said, bringing red to both their cheeks. Yuzuru looked at the ground embarrassed and all Kana wanted to do was lock herself in a hole and never come back.
"Stop it" she begged of Stella.
"There's so much sexual tension around you two, it's kind of cute, not going to lie."
With each teasing of her best friend, Kana only got more and more embarrassed, wondering what was going through his mind at that moment.
"Will you stop?" she begged.
"Hum... sure... But only because I know this is partly my fault."
"How so?" Kana asked confused.
"Well, I was the one who interrupted you this morning." she joked with a small giggle that made Kana groan in protest again. "What? You can't say I didn't..."
"Stella..."
"Fine fine, I will stop, even I love seeing you all embarrassed."
The only problem with remembering the situation over and over again was that Kana was considering how it would be if they hadn't stopped and well, he looked way too good to ignore.
As if on cue, Yuzuru approached Kana carefully, a smile on his lips, and kissed her cheek as if it was natural. Almost as if it was normal for them.
One thing, however, was certain. She kind of wanted it to be.
