Being surrounded by the warmth of his embrace made it incredibly easy to just relax and get some quality sleep time.
Or at least that's what she had hoped for.
Her brain seemed to have some other ideas.
It was nothing new that her dreams were filled with thoughts of Yuzuru but lately, the imagery was getting more and more detailed.
Kana would honestly be fine with it if they were regular dreams but every single time, they were more than enough to bring goosebumps to her skin.
...
His skin glistened above her, sweat running wildly across his forehead, his breathless moans only fueling the intensity of every feeling.
He moved in slow and paced movements, enjoying every single detail of the pleasure in her expression.
Kana could only move as he appreciated every moan that left her. All Yuzuru wanted was to prolong that feeling, seeing her lose herself completely in him. She was so beautiful like that. The way her lips curved into a smile as he pressed into her, the way her nails dug into his back, her hands gripping his waist for support. Every detail was beautiful to him. It was like he was watching her for the very first time.
Kana's moans grew louder.
"Yuzuru," she whined, her voice so full of want. It was an innocent voice, one that was so full of emotion. Her breaths grew shorter, her movements erratic as Yuzuru continued to thrust into her.
He pressed his lips to her ear, his tongue flicking at the lobe. "I love you," he whispered, his voice only fuelling her pleasure further. She felt the pressure build in her lower stomach, her legs shaking uncontrollably.
The pleasure overwhelmed her senses, causing her to shiver beneath him.
Kana's moans were music to his ears, her voice only causing his pleasure to build further.
They stayed like that for a moment, Yuzuru still buried inside of her, Kana still reeling from the pleasure she'd just experienced.
Her hands gently stroked his back, her touch causing Yuzuru to feel the pleasure in her actions. It wasn't just about sex, it was about the pleasure they experienced through each other. That feeling of closeness.
Yuzuru leaned down and pressed his lips to Kana's, his movements gentle. "I love you," he repeated, his voice soft as he pulled back, a smile forming on his lips. He could feel his heart pounding wildly against his chest. "I love you more than anything," he added, pulling back and leaning up. His eyes met hers and he smiled.
Kana stared into his eyes for a moment, her heart beating rapidly. "I love you too."
...
She shook awake when she heard her name on his lips.
"Kana!"
"What-What's going on?" she eventually asked, confused in her sleepy state.
Yuzuru seemed to be caught in his own thoughts when she finally woke up, unable to explain how he felt the need to bring her to consciousness when he woke up to beautiful sounds leaving her.
It was without surprise that he lingered in every sound, the memories of a past life well alive in his mind. God, he missed her so much. He missed the old Kana.
"You were...huh...dreaming? I think?"
Even if she didn't fully remember the dream in vivid detail, the soft tinge of red in his cheeks would probably tell her what all of this was about.
"I...yes..."
She wasn't sure what she had uttered to make him freak out to the level of waking her up but it was clear he was somewhat disturbed by the whole thing.
Still, all of the insecurities seemed to be gone in just a few seconds, quickly replaced by the most handsome smirk she had seen on his face.
"Good dream, I take it?"
Yuzuru said, his voice now tinged with a playful tone she had only seen a couple of times before.
Kana blushed furiously at his words, a hint of shyness creeping onto her face when she saw the intensity of his gaze. The way he stared at her now, with all his attention focused on her, made her feel as if he was looking into her soul.
It took a moment for her to clear her throat, a feeling of unease washing over her at the way her heart seemed to race from his question.
"Ah, yes... I-I guess." she finally replied, the nervousness still evident in her voice.
Yuzuru nodded in understanding and left a gentle kiss on her forehead, the warmth of his lips making her feel protected and cherished.
He laid next to her, holding her hand with his own, his thumb absentmindedly stroking the back of her palm.
The soft touch of his fingers over her skin made her skin prickle, the heat of his body radiating onto hers.
A moment of awkward silence followed, with neither of them able to find their words.
He was the one to break the silence, his voice whispering in the quiet of the night.
"You were saying my name..."
he said, his tone soft and careful, almost as if he was trying not to break the tranquility of their moment.
The words left her feeling embarrassed once more, a flush creeping onto her face at the mere thought of her dreams. She hadn't realized that she was being so vocal about her dream in her sleep.
"I was?" she said, unsure if that was something she could just admit to.
"I mean...if you want to tell me..." he added, his voice a soft whisper, trying to reassure her that he was there to listen.
A moment of pause followed, the two of them still trying to find their words. The only sound being Yuzuru's finger tracing circles over her palm.
In a moment of vulnerability, she decided to confess, her voice barely above a whisper when she spoke. A shy blush covered her face from the confession.
"...I was dreaming of you..." she finally replied, her voice soft and small in the silence.
The admission made him smile, his eyes looking up at the ceiling with a warmth he had never felt before.
She was dreaming of him? The old Kana? The one that had forgotten about him and their past?
He held onto her hand tighter, feeling a sense of hope rising within him. Maybe there was still hope after all...
The moment of quiet contemplation was broken by her next words, her tone almost inaudible.
"I don't know why but I always find myself dreaming of you."
Yuzuru seemed uncertain for a while, considering whether or not to say what he wished to say.
It seemed like an eternity when he finally made up his mind.
"I wish I could tell you."
